  • Taking the commander role was a fun option in Nat selection 2 that didn't require fast twitch reflexes.

I didn't play much but I grabbed the hot seat once for the humans and the team of randos I was playing with were super pumped someone actually opted to volunteer for the RTS instead of the FPS. They were super supportive even as I fumbled around.

  • The "imaginary-never gonna happen-will use twice as much power as the state of Utah uses combined" Utah mega datacenter might, might have 100 people employed in it eventually.

    Maybe.

  • Sugar works with most things.

  • They have momentum and public support in an election year. Some of these will pass and pay for the expanded services he campaigned on, like free childcare, busses and city grocery stores.

  • "Failed him" is a pretty tame assessment of what happened. He didn't damage the nerve endings in a concert pianists hand. That would be a failure.

He killed a man through willful incompetence or negligence. He's a murderer, not a failure.

  • Based on the rehab charges, dude was probably to drunk to work his taser.

  • Muscle through the first season, or even watch a recap. It has a near TNG level of growing pains, but it picks up insanely well after that.

  • Don't ever go work for Amazon or any management that has ever drunk their koolaid.

I had a drastically underqualfied VP swoop in from Amazon to my team, and their whole style was to demand a deadline, then nitpick them if they didnt line up with whatever they seemed to want but wouldn't tell us. They seriously would just hammer us for endless detail, then disregard any facts or figures that didn't line up with their preferred deadline, which I can't reiterate enough, they would never tell us.

They would also use endless Amazon jargon on us and not explain any of it, ever. You would ask what the jargon meant, and at best they would state its name, but then couldn't define what it meant. They then got mad at us for not doing it "the amazon way" without giving us any guidelines about what that way was or even asking for it in the "amazon" way.

It was surreal, terrible, and of course non stop emergencies while cargo culting actual project planning.

  • Honestly? Better without. The Philips screws are somehow more emotive.

  • BCT

  • Pickles are less crunchy and carry their own flavor. Pleasant as that flavor is, its not the clean, vegetatative flavor of raw cucumber.

Those pepperoncinis on the side got that good vinegar tang covered.

  • That's just your cultural preference shining through.

  • No big surprise that Riker plays an instrument based on rythmic thrusting.

    An artist commits.

  • Adults cane be weirdly petty about kids winning games.

I barely beat my aunt and grandma at a game of scrabble when I was around 13 by playing the word "ulu," a type of Alaskan knife. It let me triple word score and clear my rack. I had no idea it was a valid word, but it was and it pushed me to a win.

The whining and complaining about that win nearly ruined the whole night.

  • Data's respect for life both caused and resolved that blocked door.

  • I think I blacked out after the teleporter scene. It was likely for the best.

  • Was "into darkness" the one where an assassin casually uses an interstellar transporter to escape to kronos from earth in the opening scene? You know, a technology that undermines all of trek lore, and is somehow not the central plot point?

  • Its both taking a piss and a nod to the comics, where the character would often fight shirtless but with the mask on in that era of the comic.

  • But also they drink, or at least the rich and powerful do if they want to.

Hypocrisy is a core part of wealth.
