  • Yes, there is an app called Button Mapper that allows you to map any button to any app, even special functions and utilities. It also allows for special behavior when double clicking or long pressing.

  • This plus extreme selection bias. There's plenty of concrete that did not last for thousands of years.

  • I use a Chromecast with Google TV everyday and I do not receive autoplay ads on the home screen. You are free to disable ads on the home screen in the settings and you are free to install third party home screens.

In fact, the only interaction with the home screen that is required is when I see it briefly before pressing the Netflix button on the remote which I have remapped to Plex or jellyfin using the button mapper app.

Even with the default home screen you do not see auto play ads unless you select them and continue watching.

  • And the emoji button in the message area has less features than the one found in the Google keyboard (no emoji kitchen?!), so I'll never want to use it anyways.

  • Yes I've even had a video file stop at 99.9% and it still played just fine.

  • Right, they seem like the gateway car to ride people over until a full EV and the charging networks are more competitive. I would love an EV but they just aren't convenient enough for my work travel schedule. A plug-in hybrid would solve that concern and allow for my non-work driving around town to be electric.

  • Everybody is born without a belief in god. It should require extraordinary evidence to prove such an extraordinary claim. People just accept it because it's comforting.

  • The last mile problem is more like the last 15-30 mile problem for most Americans.

Good luck installing train stations and other public transport within 1 mile of all rural and urban sprawl. It sounds perfect for big cities but it quickly falls apart when you see how the rest of the country lives outside cities.

Additionally, most commercial vehicles that require delivering tools and equipment on-site will never be public transport based and will still be crowding streets.

Of course we need better public transport, but cars aren't going away any time soon so let's make them more efficient with smart coordinated movement.

  • Would this affect any other watches that use optical blood oxygen sensors? Are they just starting with Apple because they're the largest or did Apple just do things the Masimo way?

  • Right, because they're not evil, but it is still a club organized by a group that is recognized as an organized religion by the US government and has all the protections that come with it. The school will have to choose between allowing all religious groups into schools or none.

I'm just pointing that out since other commenters are insisting that they will have to ban all after school activities as a result which isn't true

  • Looks fun but unfortunately I can't install it on my updated Pixel 7 Pro with the latest Android 14, Dec 5th update. Any ideas?

  • The Satanic temple is a non-theistic religious group, that's the entire point. They use religious groups' own tactics against them. If they allow the Christian church to host a club, then they must allow the Satanic temple to host a club. TST doesn't have anything against after-school clubs.

  • Yeah, and if someone receives the diagnosis too late then there may not be time to go to court and still perform the procedure before it's too late. This woman was lucky to have lawyers working on her behalf.

Now the Republicans will always point to the few examples such as this one to claim their system is merciful and fair. It's such BS though, as if a judge's opinion on a medical issue matters one bit against those of doctors.

  • The Amish are a non-violent cult. They have a lot of good values but they also have many toxic traditions. The difference is that they control people through psychological methods rather than with force.

They may be a non-violent group, but that doesn't excuse their behavior or mean that they are a model that all gun owners should strive for. Disgruntled members are more likely to abruptly leave altogether and carry lifelong trauma.

Amish = CultIsolation from mainstream society.Strict rules and regulations controlling all aspects of everyday life.Limited access to educationUnwavering devotion.Shunning and excommunication practices.Patriarchal leadership guided by god instead of charismatic leader

  • I think they were saying the opposite. The gun obsessed military types you see in public may be bigots. SG characters may look similar bat are various races and not bigots.

  • Check out dry herb vaping, the safest way to "smoke" weed without combustion. Still not perfect but way better in every way.

  • Yeah, the last time I went to a chiropractor for back pain, they also "corrected" my neck which in the past felt good but this time it just immediately pulled a muscle in my neck and left me in pain and barely able to turn my head for weeks.

It's better now, but I'll never go back to a chiropractor again because of the risk of making things worse for essentially no benefit.
