  • What's the solution here though? I am 100% unwilling to go back to non-compatible and separate chargers for electronics where not completely necessary. It's awesome taking only my laptop charger with me and being able to charge all devices optimally with it.

  • What do you mean by a little bit of care and which model specifically if I may ask?

  • Which model do you have if you don't mind me asking? I see a few with a very wide price range...

  • Motivation isn't "anti-anyone" to be perfectly honest. I don't see the absolute necessity to have a vacuum cleaner connected to the net, but if it is I would want that to be in a minimal data exchange setting regardless.

Self-hosting a vacuum cleaner wasn't on my bingo card for this year, but I will definitely give it a go :)

  • Took me some time to understand the processes, but this is even better than I was expecting. What an awesome project!

  • Kookaburras are just fantastic!

  • This is one of those "it probably doesn't make enough of a difference to even bother looking into" but it would be interesting to take into account cost, time and environmental considerations in your case.

I would be surprised if the electric kettle would win out for most Americans in any of the 3...

  • Can you explain the issues with KeePass? Or is there another thread?

  • The statement imo is an overreach of the short term financial gains shown as companies are allowed to chase profits via the removal of ethical responsibility (environmental, social, etc.). He IS good for pure profit driven companies. He is not good for anything else.

  • To my primitive understanding the war was triggered by the Austrians, escalated by the Germans and win by the Allies. But I've never bothered to question the information, so it felt quite controversial to read. Your other comment explaining it makes perfect sense however.

  • Ooh this is a hot take, can you explain a little?

  • I mean, it's owned by Larry Ellison's son, so not very surprising there.

  • Don't apologise, your points are valid.

I agree that there won't be a return to normal, I even said that above, but Europe does not have the manufacturing capability to replace the US as an ally in the next few years. Hence there is either a hole in defence capabilities or we turn to another questionable country to fill that hole.

On the Hungary thing, that is what I also meant as in similar: deal with the situation for now as best you can, and hope for the light at the end of the tunnel to bring about their domestic change.

  • The problem isn't the entire US, it appears to be this regime. So if you can wait out like 2+ years, there may be a return of interest in communal support. Likely never back to the reliance case as was normal for the last decades, but mutual support is worth holding out for.

Similar to Hungary and the EU situation IMO.

  • OP didn't state this clearly, but I went and looked. The app is not for replacing consults, only billing etc. so I'd put it in the "annoying, but not world ending" category.

  • If this was for a GP, I would agree with this stance. But a good, fitting and competent mental health professional can be harder to find.

  • And to piggy back this question: what alternatives do you have and are they actually viable?
