  • Buy a PC? Ok, let me just go to the PC store and say, "One PC, please." It's that simple, right? I don't have to do hours of research to understand what the components are and then even more research to understand which ones are best?

    Be serious.

  • It's not laziness; it's time. I've got three kids and a full time job. If I sit down to play a game and I'm spending that time fiddling with drivers or trying to figure out why the video isn't displaying on my tv, then I don't get to play a game.

I swear, PC snobs are worse than recipe writers about underestimating prep time.

  • Because my hobby is gaming. I don't have time to take on the additional hobby of fiddling with a PC.

Also, PC prices have gone up too, haven't they?

  • I was told by a philosophy professor that to understand the paradox, I should read Wittgenstein. I couldn't figure out Wittgenstein.

  • Imagine a distance of any length. How long does it take to cross an infinite number of that length? It takes an infinite amount of time.

Divide the length between A and B an infinite number of times. We now have an infinite number of lengths, which means it will take an infinite amount of time to cross them.

Which means nothing ever actually moves and movement itself is an illusion.

  • Well I'm glad the story has a happy ending at least.

Still downvoting beep no matter what.

  • "Straighten up and fly right!"

  • First Steps gave Galactus plenty of screen time. Definitely did him justice in my opinion.

  • Woke means "aware of systemic inequality". It's been part of the English language for a hundred years, and the definition hasn't shifted much.

When a Republican says they're "anti-woke", they mean that they are in favor of hiding systemic inequality, because they want to preserve it. They're usually using the word correctly, even though they've failed to define it explicitly.

  • So that's at least four.

  • I haven't talked to a lot of people about AI, but I'm extremely skeptical, and my wife, who isn't usually dialed into this sort of thing, fucking hates it. I'm not sure how that plays out across the general populace, but I'm inclined to think it's pretty unpopular.

  • My daughter is learning to write and gets about half her numbers backwards. After I've corrected her on a 2, a 3, and a 7, I'll look at a six and genuinely not know which way it's supposed to face.

  • I would also like to sign up for this alert.

  • My six year old daughter is playing Pokémon, and the other day we had this exchange:

"I beat another gym trainer: Misty!"

"That's awesome! Did she have a Starmie like I said she would?"

"Yes, but first she fought with a different Pokémon called a Pussyduck."

    "... Psyduck. It's called a Psyduck."

    "Yeah, ok."

    "Say 'Psyduck'. Say it."

  • Depends on the country. Bunny ears have historically also been the horns of the cuckold.

  • I'd have called them Melonments.
