  • I moved to labwc in my migration from X11. Gnome/KDE felt less stable on wayland. In a way it makes sense that transition is more painful for big full of features DEs.

  • Re Guix. It usually boots just fine on standard hardware. Its just the wifi drivers that are widely unsupported. But all of that is solved with like 5 lines of config in a standard place.

  • I must admit I do not know Bernie's policies in great detail. What I wanted to say that is that countries with national healthcare, free schooling, paid maternity, sick time, vacation days and such being the law I would refer to being left of Bernie because the status quo in USA is so much to the right.

    Even in countries where all of this is provided by the state, being able to afford roof over your head is still a big challenge.

  • How good is touchscreen desktop operation? Moving/copying/renaming files in Dolphin. What about right click? Gwenview and Okular scrolling and pinch to zoom?

    I used Plasma on an Atom tablet like 8 years ago and am now wondering if I should again look into tablets/hybrids. Also what is Plasma mobile like with mouse and keyboard and is it significantly better with touch?

    Sorry for so many questions, just curious what is software like before dropping money on hardware.

  • Looks nice. Does it do better mixed dpi? I recently had to abandon XFCE because of my 1080p laptop and 4k monitor. I found rendering on monitor a bit blurry. I found my place with labwc in the end.
