Dumb and shitty and even innocuous content can proliferate way faster with bots I'd assume. It's just making the whole experience lower quality and bums me out. To have been on early Internet and to see what most of it is now. I guess I'm just old person yelling at clouds age now.
California is contracting its own insulin supply and it'll be available for $11 a pen starting Jan 1, 2026. I know not every state can or are willing to do this but just throwing out some examples and hopefully optimism to somehow fight the American decline from within it. We're in a unique position as our state economy is larger than most countries but I am hopeful we will throw our weight around to counter the bs. https://www.chhs.ca.gov/blog/2025/10/17/governor-newsom-announces-affordable-calrx-insulin-11-a-pen-will-soon-be-available-for-purchase/
I did. Honestly I couldn't really tell if it stood out. I saw Sinners in 70mm and that looked so impressive to me. For some reason this was just really well made but the film format didn't stick out to me.
To me, better than Inherent Vice (although I don't remember that movie quite as much). Very different tonally than There Will Be Blood so a bit hard for me to compare but I think One Battle After Another is one of his best. Tonally I guess more like Inherent Vice ha well I guess they're both Pynchon novels. PTA is very unique to me but I can't articulate like style or trademark things about him. I think he's just so good at his craft and bold in unexpected ways.
This is what I've been thinking, his dementia is accelerating. Seems like he keeps saying things out loud that even seem out of character for him. E.g. Saying at the UN other countries are going to hell. I think parts of his brain are disappearing in front of us...
I mean, the same dude voted RFK in because he was assured he would work closely with him and not dismantle the vaccine group but oh nooo did RFK liiiiieee???
I guess launching the Tylenol v Advil wars of 2025. Oh and supposedly the rapture is happening today or maybe it was yesterday. You couldn't write this script with a million monkeys on typewriters!
Mmmm love a savory baked good. Enjoy PAX! How's it these days? (I suppose you can know better after today) I used to work it for PR reasons and a couple years running logistics for Indie MEGABOOTH, was super fun. Haven't been in years though.
Yep, my exposure was just gross grocery store or very bland things in salads or burgers. Flavorless and sometimes mealy. I never understood it. Thankfully I can even get great ones at stores now.
Interesting. Yea as much as I stated that I think the general (U.S.) populace has gotten way dumber, I am reminded that there are still a TON of smart people willing to fight the good fight. It's just gotten a LOT harder to broadcast their smart ideas to the masses in a compelling way when we've all got the attention span of gerbils and we're this close to airing "Ouch My Balls" from Idiocracy for real.
