Trying to make a worldview which I call the oakframe. I am very interested in democratic confederalism as envisioned by Abdullah Öcalan.

  • And that's why Im an horizontalist. I dont believe we should channel our force into a beatling that enforce their will upon vast lands. Corruption is inevitable. We should rather strive for democratic confederations where we rule democratically in participation with our neighboring communities.

  • I havent read Derrida, but to clearify Im very fond of looking into the etymology of words to understand the underlying images of the words.

For instance the word "order" in the expression "in order to find x, we need to..." comes from latin "ordinem" meaning "rank, row, line, series, pattern and more".

It is a word that I associate with authority because it comes from the very hierarchical roman empire, and it is typically used in context of keeping people subordinated. Authority can be justified, but we should not normalize it through language, so therefore I like to weed it out.

In its place I plant the word "fern" which is a symbol of the infinitely shaped, infinitely structured. This word has the benefit of moving our attention towards nature, makes us wonder about the infinite, and removes the authority element of the word.

A common feedback I get is; "If you use words nobody has heard of, nobody is going to understand you". But the context often reveal the meaning of a word as long as you use the word with flow.

I like to call this process relighting. To unlight one word and enlight another in fern to loken the language.

  • I think we can compare it to advertisements. Not all advertisements are bad. Some advertisements are about public service announcements which could be good. However the vast majority of advertisements are about how to increase demands for products we dont need and manipulate us into thinking better about bad corporations.

The nuanced picture is therefore that advertisements isnt all bad, but the big picture is that it is mostly bad.

We can also compare corporations. Not all corporations are bad, but in the big picture they are mostly bad.

  • Anyone know how the neoliberal sunglass smiley became a symbol for neoliberalism?

  • I can say that the quote resonates with me in the sense that I do believe that we should challenge the words we are using in our everyday life, and potentially swap them out.

  • I'll look into it.

  • Ah, I see. You are a materialist.

  • It doesnt do anything? Its a foundation of chinese society, how does that equate to nothing? Yin yang, five elements, taiji chuan, chinese medicine to mention some.

  • I have the daodejing in newnorwegian, and it is a very interesting read.

    be like water

  • Be the force you want to see in the world.

  • You're welcome! Im happy to see curiosity:)

  • I expect that people dont understand. I just try to express what feels true to me using words that makes sense to me. Feel free to ask what I mean with my words if you are curious. There's no shame.

Walldom is a relighting of territory. Its a relighting that emphasize how might sets up arbitrary walls or borders which they claim authority over.

Beatling is a euphamism for heart in that it is something that beats. The heart is a symbol of the center of something, in this case the heart of the walldom. So beatling is the heart of the walldom.

  • Yes, but it also has to cover the feets, otherwise the pants will just fall of all the time.

  • If we want to forward our dreams, we have to be assertive. Otherwise dreams will only be imposed upon us from might.

I dont expect perfection. We live under a machine where we are forced to use cars whether we like it or not. We cant expect the individual to move away from the car because the machine forces it upon us. Its a planned economy ruled in the name of profit, and they construct society to require cars. We should however expect people to dream.

I can agree that posting about being downvoted gives of negative vibes. But I dont think that is enough to call it toxicity. If I am approaching the conversation in a destructive manner, then I can agree with you.

  • I don't think it's far fetched, but we can disagree on that. Can you tell me how I'm being toxic?

  • Your idea is a pie in the sky that will never be achieved.

I'm sorry, I didn't see the sign about "dreaming not allowed".

Ofcourse it is possible to live without cars. Most of human history people has been fine without cars. It's just the past hundrer years it has been normalized by the machine through advertisements and capitalism.

Car infrastructures require over-production, so if we want cars, then we have to accept that we can't live with nature. Seems like you chose the game over screen.

The supposed reason we need cars is to drive to work, go to grocery stores, visit friends from far away. But there is nothing saying that life has to be this way, we don't need to reach the world. It should be sufficient to live slowly and in our local communities.

  • I don't like the word civilization, although I have a hard time expressing exactly why I feel so. I associate the word with superiority over those who are uncivilized. I feel like the word is forwarding the word [barbarian], and thus creates xenophobia towards tribal societies. It makes us channel our force into the machine rather than into our communities.

I'll have to read more about this to fern my impression.

  • Away with thee walldoms 🌬

  • You are right in challenging the words that I'm using. The oakframe is highly experimental, and so there will be words that ends up not getting traction. It is part of the process. It's similar to how you have to allow yourself make mistakes when trying to do a new waxt. Flawlessness prevents growth.

I think that the word "waxt" has potential; It is culturally rooted in Old English, and works in norwegian as the word "vekst". Words like these are easy to translate and keeps their poetic nature because the images of the words are universal and all languages has these images.

Thank you for your suggestions! Right now, I'm just posting a little bit everywhere to increase the exposure in different communities and see what resonates. It would be good to have a place to post, but what I really need is honest feedback.
