  • but why not list those specific changes instead of just saying “bug fixes and performance improvements”? If the changelog is character limited on app stores cant you put a link to a dev blog or something? I want to know what is being changed on apps that have access to data on my phone. I have permissions off on every single app because of this, you literally never know what they are doing. All im asking for is transparency. Tumblr has a dedicated blog where they talk about updates but spotify just doesnt even give a shit.

Im a dev too i dont understand the modern app development landscape, how hard is it to just tell users what they're getting??

  • ooh that could be good, i only use Instagram to message my friends anyways. Deleted everything on there.

  • i dont know if they do lending but the banking side of it is convenient enough. I use it to send/recieve money to my parents cash app is too complicated for them, i dont use it as my bank account.

  • vs codium is pretty good

  • he's a he apparently, twice divorced. First married to the mayor phoenix and now to a lobbyist for the national association of realtors. Also went to harvard. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruben_Gallego

  • they're both bickering and finger pointing at each other when they both got us into this mess in the first place and all of them refuse to cut spending. I hate that being a politician nowadays is essentially saying one liners to farm clips for their social media. In reality they'll just print more money instead of actually budgeting which means raising inflation even more making our lives even worse. I hate the dems and the GOP so much theyre an elite class getting rich while the rest of us get poorer. Both need to go.

  • Some lawmakers said they can’t afford missing a pay period.

“I’m not wealthy, and I have three kids. I would basically be missing, you know, mortgage payments, rent payments, child support,” Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., told NBC News. “So it’s not feasible, not gonna happen.”

oh so just like the thousand of workers that are being affected right now....

  • they will both agree to raise the debt ceiling again while they say little one liners to farm clips for their tik tok accounts. They are also planning to use this shutdown as a excuse to fire government employees. Nothing about this is "good" its the same performative cycle and they'll do it again next year.

  • something something knowledge

  • yeah but they're paying people pennies compared to the amount of money they'll make from selling and reselling this (not just to AI companies). Its a small one time payment. TOS also gives them carte blanche to do whatever they want with your voice and all the information they have on you. This is a whole lot worse for the user.

  • After being notified of the security lapse, the app’s founder took the servers offline. In a message sent to users, the company cited a need to “add extra layers of security” during a period of rapid growth.

if they do come back and people still sign up i will actually go insane

  • if the name is from a language you both speak (like the bob example) and the difference is only how you enunciate then dont worry about it. People dont care if its just a regional thing. Otherwise you should copy the pronunciation not the accent. idk if that's what you mean but for example don't do an italian accent in your english voice to "sound more italian" you'd get weird looks. Enunciate (the name only) the way they do.

  • yeah which is sad really, the mainstream has unfortunately given up about it. The few of us who do are screaming into a void, it would take something apocalyptic. Thought the cambridge analytical thing and the election would make people see but money talks i guess.

  • Oracle will operate in partnership with the US government on everything from algorithm retraining to application development and source code review, the White House official said. It wasn’t immediately clear what role the government might have in oversight of the app, its algorithm and user data.

every article just glosses over the fact a major platform that people use to get/share information (with also a lot of personal data collected) is about to be controlled by the US government and a few of the president's friends. No one is talking about how bad this will be its just "china bad'.

I only had an account to watch people livestreams concerts, protests, etc... Imagine the amount of suppression and propaganda if something like the L.A riots/free palestine movement happen again but the government controls what you see.

  • the same murdoch that owns the wall street journal he's suing?

  • don't forget the pedophilia

  • there was this black girl in 2018 who pretended to be MAGA. She went on twitter saying how her family kicked her out because of it so she decided to "speak her truth". She managed to get sympathy from trump supporters and got them to donate to her go fund me. Only got $200 out of it and she returned the donations after admitted she just made it up for fun lmao

In an interview with New York magazine, Quran said she simply decided to "capitalize" off of all of the recent efforts by Republicans to shed the reputation that they're "mostly racist."

"A lot of Republicans have this idea that everyone thinks Republicans are mostly racist and they’re really desperate to get that stigma off of them," she said. "I just felt like capitalizing on that."

    here's a buzzfeed article on it https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/tanyachen/college-student-faked-maga-trump-sob-story-trolled-gofundme

there's also a high chance some MAGA influencers are just grifters anyway

  • I personally dont think you need to switch to a dumb phone to get those benefits, smartphones themselves arent what's causing issues its what you're using. You want less distraction just stop using those apps or turn off push notifications.
