This is exceptionally interesting considering the fact that Ukraine has made great use of western-supplied night vision against Russian forces. It seems logical that they would want to deny such an advantage to their enemies.
There are mod projects documented on YouTube videos and elsewhere that describe how to do just that. If I remember right, it depends a lot on the specific chromebook and the manufacturer. If I were to buy a Chromebook, I would first find out whether or not it could be wiped and have linux loaded on it effectively. I would probably opt for a lightweight flavor of Linux so as to keep the device running smoothly.
We have to make the behavior of people that are destroying our global ecosystem shameful and intolerable, that's how I see this article. I've never seen societal change occur without a collective shift in perspective. This article tries to make that process more understandable because we are short on time. It is a process that has been repeating throughout human history.
As far as personal efforts and struggle to help, I don't really see it as relevant to this particular discussion. The contemporary human tendency to see global issues as a personal issue is decidedly Western. This goes beyond self, and the western obsession with selfhood. The fact that your efforts aren't helping does not create a basis for dismissing and disregarding the severity of the issue. Forgive me if that's rude, what I'm saying is this is not at all personal and about recycling habits. This is about creating a collective consciousness of disapproval that grows to a size where it can no longer be ignored or dismissed for the sake of profit and gain.
Child labor was perfectly okay until everyone decided that it was not okay. This is the crux of the article. If you look at history, it is moments like that that determine subsequent history.
It's about everyone collectively deciding that they've had enough of something. We are up against PR machines and lots of other opinion modifiers to make it seem like our perspective is invalid. We have to overcome that.
EOL. End of life. All Chromebooks have an EOL date after which they will no longer receive updates and can no longer be considered secure. All the software on them, including Chrome which is the core application, become unviable. When you find an unbelievably cheap Chromebook on sale, it's because it's EOL is close.
I think it says a lot about how the right has demonized all opposition. When you have a highly impressionable voter base that is trained to think of themselves as evil immoral baby eating demons for agreeing with the left this is what you get. This is actual and real mass brainwashing. It is also why you see every possible invective hurled at opposition from fascist all the way to Marxist and everything in between.
Very valid point. The argument here is that without a shift in consciousness of our entire species we're never going to be able to address the problem, we have to push for a world that completely disapproves of pollution and polluters. People used to not care about littering, but somehow we managed to make it a bad thing and we got the result we wanted. 'Basically the same principle. It wasn't just anti-littering policy that did it, it was people being disgusted with their communities being trashed.
Also sounds like you're describing a Chromebook. Which, incidentally, schools seem to be abandoning because of the fact that they become useless on a predetermined date.
There has never been an airport without military value. Because of this, they are often the first assets that are attacked or seized when besieging a city.
I agree. However, I also think that vendor lock-in is the true culprit. The strange thing about Apple users is that they get locked into that platform and there is little escape, but instead of feeling resentful, they swell with pride instead. Apple user = proud capative.
Last Summer was bad as well and climate/collapse interest quickly petered out once the Autumn set in. The volume of posts on r/collapse at the time dropped quickly.
The person that taught me the most about the AMOC is the Canadian climatologist, Dr Paul Beckwith.
He has been alerting to this topic for several years at least.
He has a legal defense public action committee, but there was recent allegations that money was siphoned from his campaign to restore the PAC's coffers. Evidently it was depleted to less than 20% of what it was a year before, indicating motive for the campaign funding crime allegation. Since the PAC is public, so is there accounting ledgers.
According to the producer(s) of The Apprentice, when Trump makes a particular face, that looks like a really wide stupid grin ... It means he just pooped his bum bum and he needs to be cleaned up and re-diapered. They also revealed that his incontinence was a result of medication abuse. There were pictures of him with an imported variety of a familiar OTC med that filled a nearby open drawer. It also explained how he is up at late hours of the night, tweet storming.
I wanted a consistent launcher across different devices over time. I eventually settled on Nova Launcher, paid for it, and really liked it. I have been using it for about a decade. I just abandoned it a few hours ago because I finally determined why my tablet was grinding and halting. Nova Launcher was using over 600 MB of memory as well as leaking memory. My tablet is running like it's brand new again. I am unhappy about not being able to use it, but I'm a lot happier that I'm able to use my tablet again.
I kind of recall TFG taking antiquities and artwork when he was at an embassy in, I think it was France? It was super embarrassing for America but nothing ever came of it. I think he was there for a WWII memorial and didn't bother to even go, too busy swiping valuables. I kind of remember that they were replicas of American iconic artifacts.
I use the version on ninite.com. It was the last version before AOL bought it with murderous intent, so the developers put 666 at the end of the version number as a slight to them.
