Ah yes a programming language determines the mental state and acuity of the person using it. This might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever read in my entire life. Are you sure you aren’t the one we need to test with such ludicrous ideas?
I have 32gb on my work laptop but that shit still feels like molasses because of all the background garbage from both windows and admin and also the fact that lunar lake single core speed is slow as hell. I do definitely use most of that ram though and honestly I’m not sure that it should considering about 50% of my work is in the cloud. Then again vscode also sucks and I can’t use anything else because my company is ass backwards about approving software. End rant.
Others would say it’s open source who gaf what happens with it, the codes probably already in the training data for llms anyway. Depends on your philosophy of open source. I’d rather have gpl than mit, but I’d rather use rust than c I guess so such is my opinion
Rust is the only reason I’m remotely interested in low level programming and potentially contributing to Linux. C and C++ are unreadable and vastly more confusing in terms of ecosystem to be worth dealing with for my own enjoyment. I don’t really understand the rust hate.
I fucking hate dudes like this. I’m someone who has “nerdy” interests and such and naturally they tend to be male dominated because people keep gatekeeping and being misogynistic for no reason. I’d love to have to partner with similar interests in this regard but it’s made harder by the fact that the men in the spaces are the way they are and it’s hard to engage in that way without making the person uncomfortable because there’s a precedent for all sorts of weird behavior. And then these same incels complain they are unsuccessful, well please stop ruining it for the rest of us as well. Even in a non dating context having a more diverse hobby means a more diverse experience.
Steam deck 2 gonna be elite. But honestly the steam deck is an indie machine for me, the screen size is just too small for me for AAA games anyway. Besides who even plays those anymore.
I don’t need hdr professionally. I do like having it though because I like to try to not tether myself to my desk when I can avoid it because I’m already stuck at desk jail at work for 8 hours every week day. Means I use my laptop screen a lot.
That’s certainly a fair point and I’m certainly not happy about it but ultimately I need at least one machine around to run some various proprietary software. I’d rather it be macOS than windows. Also given current hardware pricing I didn’t have the capital to grab say this framework and setup all my own cloud stuff just yet. I do self host a lot of stuff on an older mini pc, and I do use Linux on my desktop but I’m not quiiite there yet. I also did try graphene for a couple weeks but ultimately can’t use it yet full time. I’m definitely keeping an eye on the project though
Well, not as powerful as my m5 pro macbook, but incredibly compelling. Should macOS/apple piss me off sufficiently I’m glad to know I have a good option to move to although it seems I’d be missing out on hdr? It’s frustrating that the framework feels like such a me coded device and I love Linux but there’s stuff I use/like about macOS that I can’t quite replicate just yet. I hope framework really does takeoff, would love one of these as my work issued machine instead of shitty dell laptops someday.
Dunno if this counts as a bug but the way the priority works for audio streams always seems to fail. I can never understand which audio streams my media keys will actually work on if I’ve opened multiple. For example closing a YouTube video and having Apple Music open will still just grab the media keys so they don’t actually affect Apple Music. Been a pain point for a long time and still is on macOS 26.4.1
Are the text messages not evidence that would have had to be turned over to the opposing counsel anyway? Don’t really know how the whole lawyering thing works
I don’t think it’s that, it’s that this comment doesn’t really add anything and it’s annoying to see the same tribalistic tropes repeated in every single post about phone brands. I despise the dogged fanboyism of the android and iOS people.
I setup ssh key access only on all my machines so that bit is ok. Maybe I’ll forgo ssh like you’re suggesting as well. I thought I had some use for it but it’s been a while since I was messing with my forgejo instance, I’ve kind of fallen back to GitHub and codeberg for a bit since I’ve been busy. I couldn’t get https cloning to work for some reason either so I neee to investigate that I guess.
Thoughts on this versus tangled besides this being more mature? Also question, I have cloudflare serving as my ddns, I believe some settings I have configured there prevent ssh from working to my forgejo instance. Is it a security risk to allow ssh traffic properly? I have other services on the same subdomain published as well if that matters.
