It’s a good point. The thing is that I did not, and still do not see the economic argument for a rational independence. Which is a pity. Perhaps with renewable energy there might be some sort of basis.
The biggest shame, IMHO, is that the Tories are so toxic and greedy that they have fucked up the ENTIRE UK which could otherwise be a great and productive union. There could be ‘enough to go round’ and create unity rather than embittered divisions.
It’s a tough question because the ‘Left’ hasn’t really moved further ‘left’, but the ‘Right’ has, with the help of all sorts of REALLY whacky and downright evil money, has moved VERY far ‘right’ and beyond into insanity.
Where does all the conspiracy jibber jabber frothed up by nefarious state-actor trolls fit into rational discourse?
Answer: it doesn’t. And that’s part of their goal.
Except the ‘elections’ DO ‘work’ where they have gerrymandered the shit out of places. And look, they have a majority in the Senate where they can rat-fuck anything that has a whisper of equality, justice, fairness, or PROGRESS towards a nicer, better world.
And why?!?!?
Because not only are home-grown fascists supporting them, but LOTS of dark money from Russia and China are pumping up their campaign finances and social media effluent.
