  • Have you considered posting them on Mastadon too? You might get some interaction with such a greater userbase.

  • Tom Scott was discussing this in his latest video on Bear Proof garbage containers. they're designed to keep bears out, but some clueless people can't open them either.

  • Hugo Boss?

  • Yeah I've seen the backlash from the community leading up to Henry Caville's departure, but I've been out of the loop so to say since moving over to Lemmy. I kind of assumed that it would be mutually beneficial for CDPR and Netflix to parter on promotions, since I assume it's mutually beneficial in terms of Netflix subs and game purchases. Can't blame CDPR for wanting to focus effort elsewhere though.

  • Promising features that never existed is part and parcel to a lot of software sales, whether gov or private. Speaking from post-sales experience.

  • I used to work at Starbucks (almost a decade ago now), but at the time, the motto was "just say yes" to any customer requests. We also had free drink cards that you could give out to deesclate any issue. So I would say any time you're even the slightest bit unhappy, bring it up, and you should at least have your problem solved, if not compensated for a free drink next time.

We also had customer satisfaction surveys that would print on reciepts, where filling one out would get the customer a free drink. We always kept them for customers that were happier to try and rig the odds in our favour of a higher rating, but also if a customer asked for one, I would give it if I had it. You could always ask the cashier if they have any of those as well.

Again, not sure how much either of those things have changed in the past 10 years, and I'm not sure how regional it was (this was in Canada at a corporately run store), but maybe worth a try.

Also I love these types of threads -- great topic to post.

  • COD, United Offensive and COD2 are games Ive been playing since they released and never tire of.

  • Have they discussed any more show tie-in content? Was hoping they would use that for promotions.

  • Yeah this would be great. Even user defined 'multi-communities' would be great for putting all my gaming, news or meme related communities into one scrollable page.

  • Your sacrifice won't have been in vain

  • Same boat. I was 50-50 between browser and mobile viewing, but not having Sync and Relay made it easier to break away from that other 50 of use. Having Lemmy on both has also helped with replacement.

  • Working from home helped a lot with this. Saving money on transportation, plus the lunches out and after work drinks, made a huge impact on my finances.

  • That's what I'm struggling with too. I was far more likely to reply than post top level comments on posts. Something I need to push past.

  • Is there any option to export your subscribed communities ? I'd love a bit is inspiration

  • Yakuza 4 is also no slouch -- they could have called it a third headliner, and I wouldn't have batted an eye.

  • I could see it being taken advantage of, say I start a community on my instance called c/games, and crosspost a bunch of offensive content across all federated servers. But I'm still new to this and might misunderstand how it works.

  • Liftoff does look the nicest, but it's not registering my upvotes (at least from what I can tell).

I also couldn't figure out how to add other instances.

Overall though, glad we have a few nice options on Android. Using both Liftoff and Connect daily.

  • I'm also interested to see what FIFA actually do with the license, assuming they make their own game. If that is the case, I hope it's an absolute dumpsterfire.

  • Yeah, the most eco-friendly thing anyone can do is keep using the phone they have.
