Life and society is not some overly simplistic monolith as you're alluding to. People have been selfish in the past just like there are communities today. Change your social circle. Try moving, try new groups, try something different. Community still exists in various forms.
How about we stop worshipping military like a fucking cult, while we are at the same time badgering federal government employees and fucking them over.
Work is work. Treat people with respect, and make no politicians or job types into legends or cults.
I think the issue is people's idea of impact and success.
Some people believe you need to accomplish a grand lasting thing seen by millions for years. Others recognize you can be successful by simply being a hood person and occasionally having a positive impact on others when able. Even in small ways.
People need to remember that news about how Steam has like 300 employees. They do a ton with a small crew, and they stay down to earth. Coming from all sorts of console gaming and the shittyness of that, It'll be a long time before I criticize Steam.
Did a quick search to remind myself. 300 for Valve. Only like 80 are dedicated solely to Steam.
As a fan since the first, and having played nearly every version of Far Cry, Far Cry 5 was the biggest disappointment for so many reasons. What a dud. I cannot comprehend the love people have for this mediocre pile of mush.
The Vietnam DLC was fun though.
Blood Dragon is the best Far Cry by the way. But truly Far Cry 2 is actually the best for what it aimed to achieve, which was lost in subsequent games.
No different than if one child messes up the Lego build that another built. This is nothing new, only digital. Typical sibling annoyance.
Struggling to parent this issue is just showing signs of being a shitty parent.
You tell them to knock it off and teach one child to have empathy and care for others by thinking of how they'd feel if someone messed up something they built.
Sometimes you could also just chalk it up to kids being kids, so long as it isn't constant.
But to be honest, at these ages, the 5 year old probably doesn't fully understand. Just need to put some limits and maybe have them stay in their own sandbox in the game for now.
In 2018, Bill Gates' net worth was approximately $90 billion. His estimated income was around $12 billion, according to estimates from Business Insider.
In 2018, the median net worth of an American household was $101,800. I chose median cause these billionaires drastically skew the mean. The median household income was $63,179.
If an average American household gave the same scale of gift in 2018, based on household income, the gift would be $83.29, and based on net worth, it'd be $17.89.
The thing you emulate it on is not free. The internet you used was not free. Your time is not free.
