i block tankies, right-wingers, and others with garbage opinions lol <o/

  • I respect the freedom of individuals over the freedom of states. I therefore do not believe any country should have a state religion, unless you could somehow guarantee that there were no people in the country who would disagree with and be oppressed by the state religion. I care more about the right of religious minorities to not have a religion they disagree with imposed on them than I do the "right" of the majority to impose their will on the minority.

And I don't care for representative democracy, at least not in its current form, or the laws and institutions of the US, but come on now. Do you respect every politician who comes to power legitimately in your country? Of course not. That doesn't make you a hypocrite, and the same is true for liberals. Besides, many liberals--and again, I am not a liberal--openly believe that many of the processes that led to Trump being elected (such as the electoral college, gerrymandering, first-past-the-post voting, etc.) are illegitimate. It wasn't just "Western democracy" that got Trump elected; it was a very specific sort of Western democracy that a lot of liberals would prefer to reform.

  • “Anything that goes the way I want it to is a good thing.”

???????? What... what is your definition of "good" if not this? The only way this could possibly not be true is if you want a bad outcome, for some reason. Everyone believes the outcome they want is a good one.

Also, if you care about freedom and liberty, the government not doing religious stuff is a pretty important principle for maintaining that.

  • Even if it is a new innovation, it's clearly a good innovation and we should stick by it.

  • Tankies are just right-wingers who simp for different countries.

  • I'd rather have kink at pride than exclusionists at pride.

  • Same shit hits the news every few months. It never turns into anything. Doubt this will be any different.

  • Caring about humanity is why I care about politics, though. Politics is the vehicle through which humanity's fate is decided. If you don't participate in it, you allow people who do to run roughshod over you. Politics decides whether your country goes to war or not, whether people die in poverty or not, whether the climate apocalypse kills us all or not.

Note that by politics I do not necessarily mean electoralism. Voting is a stopgap measure at best. But there's much more to politics than voting and elections.

  • As someone who is far, far left, I just want to say that Lemmygrad doesn't represent us all. The libertarian left is very different.

  • Oh, thank you, that's very useful! I'll edit.

And lol. I find it incredibly silly that people get so worked up over shit that's literally not real, especially people who would otherwise consider themselves sex-positive and don't realize they've ingested Christian "impure thoughts are bad even though they don't hurt anyone" propaganda.

  • That's a big part of what I'm worried about too. Normie shit will always exist, even if it has to go underground. But what about the rest of us? We should be allowed to enjoy being horny too, dammit. And sex workers should be allowed to make a living in peace.

You mention Cohost, but I actually left in disgust after they announced they were banning porn of underage fictional characters. I don't even really consume that content, but I will die on the hill that pretending fictional characters have the same rights as real people is puritanical nonsense. Drawing or writing any porn, no matter how morally reprehensible the content, harms no one (assuming you aren't referencing real people in your art). Even indie sites that should really know better fall prey to this nonsense. And comparing sexualizing heavily stylized pixel characters to real-world child sexual abuse is incredibly insulting to survivors.

  • Do you know how goddamn hard it is to find anything more specific than "straight, BDSM" on those websites? There's barely any way to filter or save shit, and certainly not both at once. And god forbid you want to create porn and post it yourself, especially of any variety other than "two real people having sex on video." Plus there's no equivalent to the common thing on Twitter/Tumblr where people will collaborate on porn, often by one person giving another a prompt. Also, their comments and forums are dogshit, and allow you minimal curation of your identity and interactions. You can no longer, say, have a blog that sometimes posts porn and other times posts different things.

Basically, if you prefer your interaction with porn to be anything other than "watch a video of two real people fucking," the internet sucks right now.

  • Yeahhhhh, this is unfortunate. I'd be down to vote for him if he were running with a different party, but the People's Party is just... not good.

  • Things that make you less of a man:

    -not identifying as one

Things that don't make you less of a man:

    -anything else

  • Only one of them has a quintillion dollars to spend on making their shit look good. I'm less forgiving of that one.

  • Eyeroll. Literally said in the first message that I don't support the US, but yes, clearly it's us (countries I don't support) vs. them (countries I also don't support). The only possible reason one could think China is an oppressive hellhole is racism, I guess. Never mind that I also think Western countries are oppressive hellholes. But clearly thinking two things are bad at once means you actually like one of them. Christ, you're like the bizarro world version of conservatives who think that hating America means you support China. Tankies really are just libs who simp for different countries.

Educating the beasts in third-world countries? I don't have time for that. I'm too busy trying to fix my own shithole country. Are a lot of people in third-world countries wrong about shit? Yeah, obviously. But I think most people in the world are wrong about shit, because most of them aren't libsocs. Me disagreeing with you doesn't make you special. If thinking a specific group has it wrong means you're prejudiced against them, apparently I'm prejudiced against 99.7% of the world. And I'm pretty sure most people in third-world countries aren't state capitalists, so I guess you must be prejudiced against them too for disagreeing with them.

Why is it that you tankies always ignore that anarchists, libsocs, and other non-tankie leftists spend much more time fighting libs and fascists than we do fighting you? We make fun of you online. We argue with you when you say dumb shit. We don't march against you in the streets, except in countries where you rule over us. The effort we dedicate to you is really minuscule compared to how we fight and die trying to change the right-wing status quo. And yet, somehow that counts for nothing when you need to claim that our disagreements with you are rooted in bigotry.

  • Lol. Thinking some countries have better governments than others is supremacist? Whatever, dude.

By the way. If there are any countries with decent governments, I don't know of them. But like. If there were decent countries, they wouldn't behave like China.

  • It's depressing to think how useful this technology could be for disabled people if it weren't always fucking spying on you. But that will never change in today's society.

  • Yeah, I don't NOT support UBI, but it's not enough.

  • Hey, tankies, decent countries don't have to violently suppress their populations and then lie about it. Oh, and socialism is worker ownership of the means of production, not whatever the fuck they're doing in China.

(inb4 people assuming I must support the US since I hate China)

  • Loving that big social media sites are screwing themselves over. Burn it all down.
