  • I like it too. Checked it out on the nightly flatpak build. Gotta say its unusual to have the hamburger menu on the left instead of the right, but its one of those things you get used to.

    I also noticed when shrinking the window's width the sidebar collapses way sooner than before. This is bc of the search bar not using the whole headerbar anymore, so it collapses the sidebar in order to maximize search bar width

    This fusion between the top and header bar does not look well at all. Its so thick and convoluted. What would it even accomplish?

  • This saves me an extension, but i dont see it fully solving the issue of "its not clear its opens the overview" that the activities button had. Someone recommended to include a tip in gnome tour so that might help to solve it.

    In the mockup, a suggestion was made which i think looks very interesting in the animation they provided

    Seems like were getting close to fulfilling the remaining milestones, so thats exciting.

  • Exactly, thats why i disagree with naming new instances as "feddit". Sure, lemmy could be considered a "federated reddit" but at some point we should be able to detach it from that simplification.

    According to the arch wiki it seems you need a couple extra packages:

    In order to use the screencast feature the gst-plugin-pipewire and gst-plugins-good packages need to be installed.

    Could that fix the issue?

  • Huh i wasnt aware of the advice of counsel defense. Seems like the conditions are effective in blocking misuse of said defense. I do wonder if there has been a big case where this has been used succesfully, bc it doesnt really sound like a good strategy, even if we consider a less crazy context than this one.

  • A very clear example for me is Gustavo Fring from Breaking Bad. The character is supposed to be chilean and lived in Chile for a good portion of his life, yet his spanish is atrocious. Huge contrast with Lalo, whose actor is actually bilingual in spanish and english, and therefore speaks both languages fluently.

    I also remember watching a yt clip of Jim Cearrey speaking Korean. I think it was from the Yes movie. My K-drama fanboy self thought he did a good job from the shows ive seen, but actual koreans in the comments were clarifying his accent was kinda weird.
