  • I know. It's just that I tend to drink multiple espressos a day (be it at home because it's delicious or at work because of social functions) but completely forget to actually hydrate myself despite being thirsty AF.

  • This is an ADHD meme community sir/madam. We are not functional enough to drink a couple of glasses a day, let alone 8.

  • Wow that's actually genius!

Since there is a little less water than in pure water, we could call it "little water". And brand it with a foreign sounding name because that's cool. Maybe a Slavic language?

    We're onto something here.

  • Hydrate yourself. This is a threat.

  • Most of them are just a frontend for upower anyway.

  • Holy fuck we're both old. Shit.

  • That's a common misconception. Sports gambling is exactly like casino games. Odds are skewed in exactly the same fashion in the house's favor, the payout is lower than the win probability. In the long run, the house always wins.

Also, as the industry relies heavily nowadays on trading where any event can alter the odds in real time, I guess the only way to cheat the system would be akin to insider trading.

  • I'm not using it for the incentive. I'm using it to avoid punishment. The company I work for made it mandatory to use it daily. So I'm tokenmaxxing bullshit tasks so I can focus on interesting ones, but yeah I already feel it's making me lazy because I sometimes can't be bothered to read a log anymore. We are truly fucked.

This company is working on terrible assumptions. They spent years hunting for the best engineers in the country (or so they pretend to anyway) and suddenly decided that

    • we are average at best and it is better and faster than most of us (it's not)
    • software engineers don't like to write code anyway (we do, at least when the challenge is interesting)
    • it will forever be more affordable than properly qualified engineers (oh boy it won't)
    • a PM with Claude is as qualified as us to bring features to production (talk about tech stack suicide)
    • etc.

They either have drunk the propaganda koolaid and betting everything on this lie, or are so arrogant they think we can succeed where the largest AI investors in the world utterly failed (see GitHub that can't even get 3 nines of availability since the switched to full-ai-code).

  • That and Formula 1 sponsors are the most sus companies in the world.

  • Wip3out looks modern enough on the Steam Deck. 3x upscale + MSAA + texture filtering + no filtering on sprites to keep the menus and HUD crisp. It looks barely older than Pure.

  • For me it's P-Mar Project with AG-Systems, Control by MKL.

  • How much of that will be dedicated to buying votes at Eurovision?

  • Wow I completely forgot, you're right. I must atone and give it another spin.

  • Haha same, especially with 2097. But yeah even the euro version lacks licensed music, which wasn't a thing yet in 1995.

  • Slight correction here (because I've been obsessed with this game series for the best part of the last 30 years): WipEout only features music from Psygnosis' in house composer Tim Wright aka CoLD SToRAGE. Left Field, the Chemical Brothers and Orbital appear on the official soundtrack CD but not in the game. Its sequels like WipEout 2097 or Wip3out include in-game licensed music from the likes of the Prodigy, FSoL, Propellerheads or Photek.

  • Is this referring to OSINT investigation techniques? Because OSINT is fucking cool.

  • That's how you know. The pregnancy test is just for confirmation.

  • They did. The Honda e was the perfect tiny EV, except for its massive price tag and small-ish range. And of course, in classic Honda fashion, as a promising but flawed attempt didn't succeed immediately, they promptly abandoned the segment instead of capitalizing on acquired knowledge, battery technology advances and price drops. Given how successful the Renault 5 is, I'm pretty sure a 2nd gen e at half the price would have been a massive success.

Of course, being Honda, they changed their mind and came back with a significantly worse SUV.

  • I think, being "raised" in Québec-French, you have picked up a lot of pronunciations and vocabulary that are unknown in European French, to the point that I'm pretty sure it is one of the few varieties that could be truly considered a dialect.

I've heard some québécois speak "standard" French... they sound distinctly québécois ;)
