  • For me personally: Veganism is also about signaling to the outside world. Suppose I were to skin an animal that died naturally and make a jacket out of it, this would probably be the most ethical way to produce a leather jacket. But I still wouldn't wear it, because by doing so I would signal to the outside world that it's okay to wear the skinned hide of animals. Outsiders can't know under what circumstances I got the leather.

It might be a bit more radical, which is why I might face hostility, but I also throw away non-vegan foods that I unintentionally receive, instead of giving them to non-vegans. Simply because I don't want to project to the outside: "Here you go. I would never eat it because I find it unethical, but if you eat it, then that's okay."

  • Sure, that would indeed be a shame. But nobody is dependent on animal products unless there's a medical reason.

  • If it's dead, it's dead. Whether you eat it or not, it won't change anything. The purchase kills the animal, not the consumption.

It only makes an ecological difference if you convert the generated calories into energy.

  • Okay, so I found this List of Functions. Apparently you can't use Arrowkeys out of the box... I tried to configure my Neo60 with VIA but I've got some strange connectivity issues.

  • yes, but i think it's total bullshit aksing Proton user to buy the game and then $15 worth of DLC. I'd be pissed if I were forced to do that.

So, your solution is to completely deny access to the game for all Linux users, even those who've already purchased it? Total bullshit.

  • But a great start to get into selfhosting. What's an IP? What is a DNS? How do I connect to via ssh? What's the job of DHCP? Pretty basic stuff, your learning in the process.

  • I would personally recommend starting with a Pi-hole. It's easy to set up and provides an immediate improvement to your whole internet experience.

Try to follow the official guide or use a Docker container.

  • I'd rather buy handsoap for a few cents than moisturize my hands every time.

  • What if my network is open to everyone and someone pirates something using my IP? I would assume I'd be held accountable because I'm responsible for my network?

  • You could just setup a dedicated VLAN without Internet access to prevent this. Right?

  • I'm using Ludosavi to make a copy of my savefiles. It's able to automatically detect installed games and local savefiles. I just discovered it and using it to make a copies of the savefiles on my Main machine to transfer them to my Steamdeck running Lutris. Maybe I try to configure an automation which makes a copy every time a savefiles has been updated and sync it with my Steamdeck. Just for a seamless transfer without manually copy ever folder by hand if I want to sync my savefiles.

  • I really don't know why someone is that stupid... People explain why he/she should take it offline, for obvious reasons... and he/she still think it's a good idea and continue. Some people have to learn it the hard way...

  • Found a Truck owner.

  • Thanks for this recommendation! YouTube musics web application is dogshit.
