  • Thanks for all the detail. My daily driver is currently a windows machine, but I have looked into swapping to a Linux system.

I will keep this in mind and will very likely just get a new SSD. I have noticed some longer load times.

Due to budgeting, I will like just reinstall and use the SteamOS recovery key. Only downside is setting up EmuDeck, Lutris, and Decky again.

  • It’s really just a cost thing. 200 bucks for a 1 TB SSD or 170 for a 1 TB SD card.

  • My wife has been showing our 8 year old some of the pop punk songs we used to listen to as kids.

Currently he is obsessed with High Hopes by Panic at the Disco!, and while it’s an okay song — I basically have to hear it every time we all pile into the car.

My favorite song that I have over listened to is Achilles Come Down, by Gang of Youths. It’s also pretty much the only song of theirs I enjoyed. I tried a smattering of their songs 😅

  • I can’t say I’ve done a ton of triple A games that have come out post 2020.

The only ones I’ve tried are really just Expedition 33.

And that one was really rough in the prologue area, and was pretty stable 30 FPS after getting out of Lumiere with all the falling petals.

  • Currently?

It’s Skins by Asian Kung Fu Generation.

I listen to a fair amount of J pop though.

Mayonaka no Door by Miki Matsubara and Ussewa by Ado are also up there.

  • Needs more beans. And corn.

  • I haven’t seen the full thing, but I have seen folks mention that not all the effects have been cleaned up in all scenes. Seems like it just needed some final touch ups, not like the Wolverine Origins movie a few years back where whole scenes were missing vFX.

  • God of War (2018)!

I often tire of open world exploration and gameplay, but so far this game has either:

    • not opened up super wide
    • or does not need to open up super wide

I’m not a huge fan of the Destiny level up system where you gain exp and get new gear to hit level requirements, but I’ve been able to keep up. Just annoying when I stumble upon an area with something 2-4 levels higher than me.

The story is great so far.

I’m about to enter Joutunheim and just finished killing one of Thor kin. Magni, I think.

I never played the other GoW entries, but do recall watching my dad play them when I was younger. I did eventually play Dante’s Inferno, which was very similar in gameplay.

I much prefer the axe throwing/melee combo gameplay to the top down hack and slash, I think.

  • Hey, so am I! I was never a big fan of the hack and slash of the original trilogy, but have been loving the axe combat and the Norse mythos.

I have been playing it on Steam Deck and am quite impressed with it.

  • DoorDash gremlins come in all tax brackets.

  • So you roleplayed like a murder hobo? I mean, valid.

I would try another go round myself, just to see what I missed!

I missed a whole swathe in the underdark section of Act 1 during my first playthrough.

  • I agree.

I did one Tav run, want to do a Gale origin, and just got to the Druid Grove with my Durge.

  • She adds a lot! I would highly recommend replaying. She ended up being my favorite companion.

    Second only to Mama K.

  • I was pretty anti-post limits, but after seeing lemmyshitpost today… well. I can understand why they’re in place.

  • I think if you follow the rules as they’ve been laid out now, you should be allowed to stick around.

Previously the rule requiring a source or attribution link was not a rule.

While I don’t agree with Beep’s public POV on how website links for the artists are equivalent to an advertisement, it wasn’t against the rules. Just kind of rude.

If they’re willing to follow the rules now, they can stay. It’s that easy.

  • I’m not going to lie, I never knew what an em dash was until approximately late 2023.

But now I use them a lot!

They’ve solved my millennial ass issue of misusing the ellipsis when I text/write comments on Lemmy.

  • Literally all the time when making lists.

    Usually I use them:

    • when listing instructions for a user (I work in IT, shocking)
    • making a to do list
    • when asking a series of questions
    • specifically to annoy you
