  • Very fun write-up! I love seeing comparisons between ports of older games. There was so much variation back then.

  • It doesn't really bother me. Pirelli is just following the directions from either the FIA or FOM when they design the tires. Even if we got a new manufacturer we'd still have very similar tires, just with a different name stamped on them.

  • I have my doubts that that tweet was even real. There was one screenshot that got shared everywhere. There were no retweet screenshots, or even screenshots with a different timestamp. It's super easy to make a fake Twitter post screenshot, anyone could do it. If it was real I would expect to see at least some variation in posts about it.

  • Finally able to sit down and watch this week's episode. This was my favorite episode yet. The animation style choice for showing his dad's wreck was great. And Kouya's backstory was tragic. I figured it was something like that. You see it all the time in the comments for tragic photos. "Why didn't they help?" is such a common sentiment, but in reality there usually isn't anything a photographer could have done to help in those situations. I definitely feel for him there.

Loved the ending scene with Haruka talking to his father, and I can't wait for him to win a race now. Can't wait for next week!

  • From what streamers have said, turn off V-Sync and all of the depth of field options and your FPS should vastly improve.

  • Well, I definitely agree with him. That may be the dumbest safe design I've ever seen.

  • The "Bunny Girl Senpai" is just the title for the first book. The LN series is "Rascal Does Not Dream" followed by whatever the book is about. Like "Knapsack Kid" for this movie. For the anime they just stuck with the title of the first book.

And they do sort of explain it right away when they talk about "puberty syndrome" or whatever it's called. The entire series is about resolving supernatural phenomena happening around different characters.

  • Well that's some technical bullshit for that 4th and 1 conversion from the Steelers. Bad spot, can't challenge because no timeouts, and like 10 seconds away from being under two minutes when it would be automatically reviewed and overturned.

  • Got mine right after it released and I get the notification. As far as I remember I've always gotten it. But it doesn't appear on your phone, just on the watch.

  • I agree that the battery life isn't great, but that's the only issue I have with it.

It won't notify you when it's getting close to dying (Why would you need that on a watch last lasts a day and a half?)

Mine vibrates and gives a notification when the battery hits 15% or something. Might be 10%. I largely get by with just charging it when I get ready in the morning. And the battery life has also gotten way better since release, some of the updates made a big difference. It's gone from maybe getting a full workday to easily getting a day and a half now if I put it in night mode overnight.

  • Wear OS 4 also introduces the ability to transfer your Pixel Watch data to a new phone without a factory reset as well as a way to back up your data and settings from your Pixel Watch when you’re ready to upgrade to a new one.

Well that would have been really nice to have when I got a new phone last month. It was a huge pain to factory reset it and then set it all up again.

  • Idk, I'm actually really enjoying the chill slice of life vibe it's got going on. Concerning the summons from the king, based on the next episode title I'm thinking he's going to propose a marriage between Sei and the second prince. Which in turn will force Al and Sei to actually commit to a relationship.

  • Most Gundam series fit that role. Check out Iron Blooded Orphans if you want a standalone series.

  • God I hope this is a good adaptation. I read all 6 books this summer and absolutely loved them. So many twists and turns in this series and while I'd love to talk about them, I don't want to risk spoiling anybody. Now we just need the two epilogue books to get licensed for a translation. I know the author's next series (an isekai in the same world but much later in time) is being released in English in January.

If anyone is curious, this is not an isekai, it's a fantasy action romance series.

    Series description:

“My wish as champion is for you to descend the tower and be my wife.” Climbing a deadly tower, Oscar seeks the power of its master, the Witch of the Azure Moon. He hopes her incredible magic can break a curse that will kill any woman he takes for a wife. When the prince sees how beautiful Tinasha is, though, he has a better idea―since she’s surely strong enough to survive his curse, she should just marry him instead! Tinasha isn’t keen on the idea, but agrees to live with Oscar in the royal castle for a year while researching the spell placed on the prince. The witch’s pretty face hides several lifetimes of dark secrets, however―secrets that begin resurfacing…

LN Volume 1 Cover for an art comparison:

  • I should pick this manga up again and give it another shot, I stopped reading somewhere around chapter 17ish. I remember it being enjoyable, but it just never really hooked me.

  • I really enjoy this manga, I just wish we had more translated chapters and a regular release schedule. Hopefully the adaptation is halfway decent. This promo art looks promising.

  • Another great episode! If all the races are like this, I'll be one happy camper. I hope they talk about locking up the tires and the repercussions of it in a later episode since Tokumaru kept doing it. I'm worried a viewer without any motorsports knowledge might be confused why the car seemed to be drifting at some points in turns after lockups. It's a little exaggerated, but that's fine.

And does Japanese F4 require any fuel saving? If not, the depiction of Haruka slipstreaming Tokumaru is a little off since there's no reason to just sit there when passing if you aren't trying to save fuel. It should have shown him getting sucked in and closing the gap, then darting out when he gets close enough. But whatever, that's a minor gripe.

I'm loving the accurate depictions of the tracks as well. I race some of these tracks on iRacing, so it was cool to see Twin Ring Motegi in this episode and know where on track they were.

  • Another great episode, I'm glad we finally have Stark onboard. I love the various little moments between him and Fern, like the look she was giving him when he was acting like a scoundrel. And the dragon fight was great, I wasn't expecting the animation to go that hard but I'm so glad it did.

  • I'm so glad that I happened to see this show on Crunchyroll Friday night. Started it on a whim and season 2 just happened to be airing. Loving it so far, it's got such a good vibe. I'll probably pick up the novels soon.
