Sorry, but I have to disagree. The concerns with over-prescribing of ADHD meds in particular is, in my opinion, 3-fold.
Pre-adolescents can be “hyper”. It’s part of being a kid. Lots of parents are just poorly equipped (exhausted and stressed from shitty material conditions) to handle a 7 year old bouncing off the walls.
Just because a kid does not fit neatly into the cookie cutter education system we have designed does not mean they are neurodivergent.
Young adults/college aged students frequently distribute their ADHD stimulants to their classmates so they can either cram for 16 hours straight or continue binge drinking. They then turn and seek out their own prescription.
Do plenty of people need ADHD meds to function? Yes.
Do I think part of the definition of “function” here is within the context of a capitalist society? Also, yes.
This is basically all that needs to be said. The Democrat establishment has both failed to protect and actively worked against the interests of all working class people in America and around the globe.
The books do a much better job of depicting this, but if I remember correctly, part of how the Fremen survived the occupation of Arrakis by the Imperium (who have massive spaceships capable of orbital bombardment) was by being fractured, secretive, and isolationist. I don’t think their lack of revolt, which ends horribly and is actually a condemnation of the white messiah trope, is meant to show their lack of collective intelligence, it is simply a byproduct of their survival methods and the technological gap between them and the Imperium.
Also, prior to Paul, I think their ultimate goal was the terraform Arrakis to a lush green planet, which is why they store water in their sietches. They did not have any ambitions beyond Arrakis, which is what it would ultimately take for them to secure the planet ironically.
I’d love to hear about some of these flags, the only ones I recognize are the pine tree flag and the Gadsden.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Treasury Department on Friday extended its pause on sanctions on Russian oil shipments to ease shortages from the Iran war, days after Secretary Scott Bessent ruled out such a move.
The so-called general license means U.S. sanctions will not apply for 30 days on deliveries of Russian oil that has been loaded on tankers as of Friday. It extended a similar 30-day license issued in March for Russian oil that had been loaded by March 11.
The extension underscores how the fallout from the Iran war has boosted Moscow’s ability to profit from its energy exports, which had been restrained since the invasion of Ukraine.
Speaking at the White House on Wednesday, Bessent ruled out extending the license.
“We will not be renewing the general license on Russian oil, and we will not be renewing the general license on Iranian oil,” he said.
The administration did not immediately explain the reversal.
