  • Ultimate example.

  • Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

  • "I am completely. Out. Of ammo."

    slumps down.

"...that's never happened to me before."

  • All sports have an alternative league where performance enhancing drugs are mandatory to participate. That's way more fun.

  • They eat garbage, never exercise, then reply really butthurt when the obvious is pointed out.

  • Yep I don't even filter out blue light. ZZzZ.

  • I played this for 6 hours straight. Lovely port so far but there are some minor bugs. Namely in the point scoring results screen with flickering text sometimes probably z fighting. I also had the mini map get bugged position and overlap the lap times upper right a couple times.

Other thing I noticed was timing differences at higher frame rates like the steam train crossing the desert road.

OpenGL is very slow considering what it has to render. Used Vulkan but I tested OpenGL briefly and it chugged at 2160p with 120hz and frame interpolation on. AA was off.

  • Basically nothing from before 2010 that I posted online can be found except for some fragments on the Wayback Machine.

  • I think most AI corp tech bros do want to control information, they just aren't high enough on Ket to say it out loud.

  • Besides two niche subreddits, I stopped using reddit. So it's 90% Lemmy. I don't use much else for social media except Something Awful and a heavily manually censored Discover tab on Bluesky because I'm sick of seeing Amercians crying and their politics. I wish we could region block entire countries on our personal social media accounts.

Anyways, the focus is reddit. I don't really miss it because I could see the rot with bots, alts, power mods, site leadership, vote manipulation, etc etc.

  • Evolution is considered a success if the animal lives long enough to successfully mate and nothing else matters to mindless evolution. At least cats don't have curly tusks that borrow through the skull if they live long enough like that infamous boar species I can't remember the name of.

  • Sun intensity increases over time > the oceans boil into space, bye bye complex life > sterile ball > Sun swells into Red Giant possibly overlapping Earth's orbit > Sun dies taking any optimistic sci-fi humans or what evolves from us with it, not massive enough to supernova > White Dwarf nuclear corpse > Black Dwarf > Universal Heat Death > ???

  • When video streaming first appeared on the internet, I basically stopped watching cable. I tolerate 0 ads and abuse video and streaming services until it's impossible to do so and then I just won't use those services anymore. It's not sustainable to let me watch, acknowledged. I don't care.

  • They also got rid of video ratings, porn really is corporate!

  • Not all, but yeah. 75% of my wishlists are weird and interesting indie stuff from the constant Steam demo fests.

  • Imagine not being American and using Bluesky. Or Mastodon. That's the vast majority of what's there if you speak English.

  • To build the new material, the team used a high-powered laser to vaporize the crystals and redeposit them in layers just 200 nanometers thick. In total, they created a structure consisting of 500 stacked layers.

Always comes down to how fast you can manufacture ideas like this.

  • I work on the floor in a pretty specialized role, so I can always just use the excuse of having to attend to any given machine coincidentally whenever they want to have a meeting I don't feel like attending.

None of the managers really understand what we do, so they don't challenge the excuses ever.
