He/him - I run a discord server called Autumn's Rise, it's a chill and welcoming place to hang out and discuss games/movies/etc. Anyone's welcome to join! https://discord.gg/7J7QRDVg7D

  • To save anyone a click, it's just a placeholder job title. Really doesn't seem like something that needs a whole article written about it.

  • I learned that from TotalBiscuit a long time ago.

  • Reddit was never going to just shut down overnight, but it's more or less done for me (barring some sudden change with the API stuff, but even then I'd make an effort to use it less). I'll keep my account around and might occasionally go to it to look up specific things or visit more niche communities that don't have much of a presence here or on other alternatives yet, but I'm done with just generally browsing reddit or providing any content for them. I'm enjoying it here and hope the boost in activity allows for continued growth and filling out of communities for more specific topics.

  • Seconded, I love UCH so much. One of my favorite multiplayer games, I've never had anything but a great time with it.

  • I hate that "review bombing" has come to be considered a bad thing. It's not always for a great reason, but it often is, and it's one of the most prominent ways normal people have to make their voice heard against large companies. That's obviously also the reason it's been put down so much, but it sucks.

  • Yeah I imagine most of those are contingent on the merger going through.

  • I believe (could be wrong) that they just are against hosting NSFW communities on beehaw. You should still be able to view things from other instances if NSFW is enabled in your account settings.

  • This sounds like they're finally making the game what it should have been in the first place. New perk system in particular peaked my interest. Still haven't played it, and not picking up this at launch, but if it comes out and they didn't fuck it up this time I might pick up the game+dlc on sale after a couple months.

  • How does Against the Storm play on deck? I love it on pc but playing it without keyboard and mouse seems intimidating.

  • You can get it in a bundle with a bunch of other metroidvanias here.

  • I'm in the middle of that and need to get back to it, great game.

  • Pretty disappointed overall. Couple of the smaller things looked cool. Don't feel like I even had very high hopes, but everything either was uninteresting to me or was cinematics only with no hint of how the game plays.

  • It's crazy how they came out ahead of this bragging about how all of their trailers would be either gameplay or in-game, and it's all just cinematic shit anyways.

  • I'm assuming they'll still show it a bit during the xbox showcase and then show more in depth in the thing after, but maybe not.

  • Everwild seems like a realistic thing to hope for that would be exciting. I assume we'll be seeing Forza. Silksong seems like it'd be here if anywhere during this not-E3, but not getting my hopes up for that. Really have zero interest in Starfield, so I hope they don't spend too much of the time focused on that.

  • Hope you enjoy Outer Wilds! It's my all-time favorite game. Just go in as blind as possible and don't be afraid to experiment and explore.

  • Tetris sometimes

If you haven't, check out Apotris, it's a really well made version of tetris made as gba homebrew (can run it through emulators with Emudeck or whatever else), has a ton of modes and customization. It's my go-to way of playing tetris now.

  • I've been playing Lone Fungus from the recent metroidvania humble bundle, it's alright? Takes a lot from other games, Hollow Knight in particular, and mostly doesn't live up to its inspirations, but is still fun enough. Very easy to binge and it has a bunch of areas/bosses so it's not really repetitive or slow at all. Like a 6/10 so far, but if you've played nearly everything in the genre like I have it's fun enough
