Who? The governments? The people? I remember an ellection in france. Macron stopped military support for ukraine for months prior to the ellection cause ~30-40% were about to vote for Le Pen (2023?) And she was using the "we are spending too much in a special military operation that isnt of our concern" card. As soon as he was reellected (because, as i understand, the left bend itself for the "greater good"... or the "anything but le pen" good) military packages started flowing again.

I dont say that you are wrong though, i think europe has the potential to push russians back to the urals if they wanted it, but politics are complex and there are too many countries in which opinion on ukraine war is, to some extent, divided.
Imo, they dont care if it is useful or if it is good enough to destroy half the population worth of jobs. I think that some assholes did a big ass investment that is running on the potentiality of AI as it was being sold 2 years ago.
People realized that it was just polished shit "too soon" and they are now forcing us to use it just to make statistics and slogans. I think that the target isn't us but other investors. They are trying to stop the bubble from popping too soon.

I dont know how well LLMs work translating chinese to english, but for the uses i give it: spanish, french, german and english, i dont see any issues. I did have some issues translating russian to english though... the stupid bot decided that i invented a modal verb
