I'm just hopping from one shuttered instance to another.

  • I canceled my BW sub and made the move to Proton when I saw this yesterday. I went through the enshitification of 1PW and won't hang around for the sequel.

  • I can't put into words how sad I was when finding out Les didn't sing in it.

  • I dropped boost like a hot turd when the ads for paid users showed up. Consider Voyager, it's a great app for both Lemmy and Piefed and they think more of their users.

  • I'm convinced Hexbear exists only as an instance blocking tutorial for new lemmy users.

  • I had to shut down my forums due to the scraping. I couldn't afford the resources required to remain online during their attacks.

  • The gullibility of the person hearing the tale.

  • Actually, they are both wrong. The billionaires funding the project would be billionaires² and we would remain under their thumb.

  • lahmau.

  • AI CEO D. Scott Phoenix laid out a vision of a world in which the chipped enjoy so many advantages of the unchipped that you’ll be forced to comply.

I won't even verify my age online. He can shove my advantageous chip right up his ass.

  • A subset of users on the r/piracy subreddit responded harshly to the designer's expression of disappointment, with some claiming that he must be fabulously wealthy. "This is like a man in a solid gold suit spitting at a homeless person," decided one poster.

Lol, only /r/piracy would be dense enough to come up with that analogy.

  • Comment for info. Piefed. zip died in the app yesterday.

Piefed. zip works in the browser and the app is able to load Lemmy. zip

  • Sort by new/all, build your blocklist and enjoy. While this would never work for a popular platform, it works great for something as niche as Lemmy/piefed.

  • It's not for mixed company.

  • I have seen no examples of a Linux os that is even close to being usable for daily smartphone needs and progress is laughable in most cases. What are you seeing that makes you think it's an option for anyone but the most stubborn of users?

  • Block the elements with an ad blocker if it's a site you frequent often .

  • God help me if I ever feel this passionate about systemd.

  • For an experience a bit more familiar, you might consider a pixel, GrapheneOS and pgpp. If I understand it correctly, this setup is a Google-free and privacy-based carrier alternative to the system that is currently at risk.

  • No, just domestic pressure.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

is there a discussion hub for the Lemmy framework itself?

  • Privacy @lemmy.world
