    I have no idea where the water is coming from

    The house has a well, but the irrigation system is completely separate and has a pipe running somewhere that I have no idea about.

    Does a data centre actually pollute or dirty the water when used to cool it's stuff?

    Could it not just take the water, run it through the system, heat the water a little bit to cool the stuff it needs, then run the water back into the city lines which might even save people a few cents on the water heating bills?

  • I agree, even if Biden was 20 years younger I think he would have won. If he was 20 years younger and female and Indian he would have lost just as Harris did.

    It was definitely policy that hindered them, but also the sexism and racism.

  • Since you mentioned the name, I did notice quite obviously the disrespect everyone had toward Kamala Harris in the news and online comments simply due what they called her.

    Almost everywhere, it was quite common for people to refer to her as Kamala and not Harris.

    I suspect it was either due to her being a woman, or due to her being Indian (Kamala sounds a lot more foreign than Harris).

    It was always "Kamala vs Trump" never Harris vs Trump or Kamala vs Donald.

  • That would go poorly if he tends to operate on riskier patients. Would definitely have to compare with other surgeons that have a similar patient risk.

  • I go for a conference almost every year for work. Skipped last year, this year its in Canada (1 out of every 5 years) so I got a two for one.

  • I've been summoned twice in the past 7 years and neither time did I actually even get to the point where they interview to decide if I would have been a juror.

    First time I got summons was like a month after I moved to a different city for work and I let them know and they said okay you don't need to come.

    Second was like last year and I accepted the summons but then got a notification that I was no longer needed as the trial wouldn't happen. I assume plea deal or something.

  • I wonder if a way to solve this supply chain and scalper issue is if you just have a a deposit reservation system a few months before release

    That way if they know 100,000k units already have a deposit, they know they can produce more than 100,000k units.

    And probably a lot of those will be scalpers, so if 50,000k are scalpers buying a bunch all of a sudden there will be a glut of scalpers selling a bunch at the same time and competing and then likely not able to offload at a premium.

  • It's kind of surprising to me that fuel prices in the US seem to have been affected the most by it.

    I'm above the border and gas was typically $1.30 and now it's closer to $1.90-$2.00

    Still a big increase but no where near double like some places in the US

  • Not only does it need to cover the cost of the DRM but also the lost sales from people not buying because it has denuvo.

    I would have bought Civ VII a long time ago if it weren't for that, still don't have it and never even bothered to try pirating it yet even though I probably could.

  • I think people have forgotten how to write good movies since it's been such a long period of remakes and franchise garbage.

    Plus corporate greed and algorithms have resulted in cookie cutter scripts that "should please the largest amount of people" or some shit like that.

    Everything is made to me inoffensive to anyone and appeal to the widest variety of people.

    There's no movies that tailor to a specific audience anymore, where 20-30% of people will think it's amazing, instead 40-60% of people might think "meh, might as well watch it"

  • Does it matter if the coo knows or not? If they do something stupid and get stopped, the cop will realize and fine them for not being registered.

    You can also drive around in a car without a license and a cop would never know unless you drove stupidly and they pulled you over.
