  • you may want to look up whataboutism

Again, you are just throwing “whataboutism” around because you can’t logically answer the question. The answer is simply that you are not a real fan of Marvel and DC. Batman is the most famous superhero, and you have never read a Batman comic or watched a movie. He’s the most famous one, so he’s the easiest to criticize because he’s popular. Again, do you have this criticism for:

Moon Knight Charles Xavier Iron Man Green Arrow Iron Fist Blue Beetle Sunspot Emma Frost If you have a problem with sidekicks, do you then have a problem with: Captain America The Flash Wonder Woman Superman Martian Manhunter Aquaman Green Arrow (who’s a straight-up Batman copycat) Etc., etc. Can you just answer that question? If not, then just say: “Yeah, I’m not a real fan. I know nothing about these characters. I’m just jumping on the bandwagon because Batman is the most famous hero, and I know nothing about Marvel and DC because I’m not a real fan.”

"you may want to look up whataboutism"

"I dont feel talking about any other superhero whos very similar to Batman who does the same shit he does so I'm just going to say "whataboutism".

You aren't a fan just say that.

  • This is known as gatekeeping.

There is literally nothing wrong with gatekeeping and yes there is such a thing as a "real fan"

  • Again, it’s clear you aren’t an actual fan of Batman, DC Comics, or Marvel in general. I know this because the argument you have for Batman doesn’t apply to any other superhero who is richer than him, or any other superhero with a sidekick. It’s always ‘Batman endangers children,’ despite the fact that the entire Justice League endangers children too.

But if you would like, James Gunn can write Bruce Wayne adopting Dick Grayson at 25 years old, and Dick can become Robin while being adopted as a grown man—if that’s what you want. In fact, all the Teen Titans can be 30+ year-old sidekicks if you want, just so we don’t ‘endanger children.’

Funny how you didn’t bring up Daredevil in this list, because in Season 2 of Born Again, he’s fine with Hector’s niece—who’s like 13 years old—being White Tiger, despite her uncle getting killed doing it. Matt had no qualms about it.

So your arguments aren’t worth engaging with. And Absolute Batman is so badly written—because if he’s dirt poor, how the hell does he afford his suit, gadgets, materials for armor, and a supercar? If he’s poor, then you need to explain how he’s doing all this.

And if Martha is alive, then why should I take Absolute Batman seriously at all? And why have Batman keep a no-kill rule? He’s basically just The Punisher now, so you might as well go all in—give him a bunch of guns and have him start shooting every criminal he sees. If he’s Punisher, then just go full Punisher.

  • Absolute Batman is poor as fuck, but he can afford a mining dump truck, fuel for it, the supplies to customize it, a secure place to hide it, and the list goes on.

Also if Martha is alive and if hes working class then why be Batman in the first place?

And why are criminals afraid of this dude?

  • You aren't a real Batman fan and thats ok! My post was for real DC fans.

  • Child endangerment

I hope you have this same energy for literally every single superhero in the DC universe because the Teen Titans literally exist because almost all the justice league members have child sidekicks.

  • OP is definitely wrong about rich people not dating middle class people or poor people

A millionaire Heiress isn’t going to date the pizza guy who comes from a working class or middle class family

The millionaire heir isn’t going to date the Starbucks Barista who comes from a working class or middle class family.

Most upper-class elites date other people from upper-class elite families. The only exception might be ‘new rich’ people, like rich athletes, singers, actresses, actors, and models. For example, a man or woman from a very wealthy family might date a rich Hollywood actor who comes from a middle-class family, but they wouldn’t date a ‘regular’ person.

You see this all the time: Nicola Peltz’s dad is a billionaire, and she’s married to David Beckham’s son. David Beckham is worth half a billion dollars. There is no way a millionaire heir or heiress is going to date someone middle class. The idea that ‘star-crossed lovers’ fall in love is just a trope in TV and movies.

  • You think people only date or have relationships within specific economic classes?

  • Homelander is heroic and a better father in comparison to the Superman and Lois show.

  • So you think parents should harass, stalk and their children ignore their consent and boundaries which is basically rape? So they should rape their kids? Is that what you are saying?

  • A) You clearly don’t have kids.

If I had kids, I know how to respect boundaries. If they made it clear they don’t like me or don’t want me around and told me to leave them alone, I could—I wouldn’t harass them and stalk them, because I’m not a predator like how they wrote Clark. Secondly, if I was a superhero, I couldn’t get mad at my kids for lying and keeping secrets from me when I do the same thing.

"C) It’s a TV Show, conflict and drama keeps people paying attention."

There is nothing wrong with drama and conflict, but when it’s forced, it’s just bad drama for the sake of drama. When it’s nonsensical, it’s just bad writing, and it makes the characters who I’m supposed to like unlikable. If Jon tells Lois to her face, ‘Fuck you, I don’t like or care about you and don’t want you in my life,’ and Lois continues to force herself on Jon (which comes off as predatory), and Jon is verbally cruel toward her, then she deserves it. If someone tells you to fuck off and you decide to stay in their life and they verbally abuse you and treat you like shit I feel no sympathy for you.

  • Ironheart was dumb as hell, though. She didn’t need to join a gang to make money. If she built a bunch of gadgets and an Iron Man suit in a college classroom, then she can build something and sell it. Or go back to Wakanda and get an internship there.

  • If your son has $500 Million dollars and lives in a mansion in Bel Air with staff ect I think not saying anything to your family is wrong.

  • I’m not. I’m just asking how a person of color who’s a billionaire or CEO can be unknown, since whenever it happens, it’s a pretty big deal.

  • How about Black or other person of color CEOs? How are they famous?

  • This is not an unpopular opinion

You'd be surprised—I've seen people on Twitter and Reddit excuse criminals doing horrible things because they are poor.

  • there are only a few thousand billionaires in the world, even if not “famous”

Do you know what Knight Transportation is? Probably not, but it’s a trucking company worth $8 billion, and it is on the Fortune 500. Do you know who the CEO is? No, you don’t—and his net worth is not publicly disclosed. So even if they are online, unless you are really into corporations, CEO stocks, etc., I doubt you’d know.

When I worked at a country club, I saw many high-net-worth individuals of all races—Black, Hispanic, Asian—and I can tell you that you wouldn’t be able to pick them out in a lineup.
