  • The EMA had office space in London, which got rented out to WeWork. The space costs 30million in rent per year until 2039 so a total of 40million, if they do not find a new tenant. Honestly I do not get why they did not buy the building. Other then that relativly sensible.

  • Wir brauchen in Deutschland sehr dringend aktivistische Investoren, welche den Boys Club mal aufmischen. Allerdings hat die SZ auch recht, dass man einfacher gegen schlechtes Managment klagen können sollte. Ich verstehe echt nicht wie Brudermöller noch bei BASF sitzt. Der Herr hat es mit Russland vergeigt, Wintershall Dea wird verkauft, nachdem es massiv Verluste gemacht hat und man investiert massiv in China, da man anscheint in Russland noch nicht genug verloren hat. Damit hat er trotz Inflation die Hälfte des Wertes der BASF zerstört. Solche Manager gehören gefeuert.

    Ähnlich sieht es aus bei deutschen Versicherern. Wer Benko noch Geld in den Rachen schießt als er halb Pleite ist, gehört gefeuert.

  • The Nordic countries currently have some massive problems with their electricity system due to this. A good number of power plants have issues, this lead to electricity prices in Finland to go insane. The price peaked a 1.90€/kWh today. That is electricity exchange prices and mainland Europe is around 0.10€/kWh today.

  • It is very possible to live in every German city without a car. The problem is not trying, but that any changes to the street layout, which slows down a car is going to be challenged in court. Unless the city can show that this was completely unavoidable. Unless that is changed, you just can not do much about it. Btw anybody can sue, if it hurts a car, but if you cause problems for anybody else like cyclists or pedestrians, you have to prove that you actually are impacted by the changes. So pro pedestrian and cyclists organizations unlike pro car associations can not sue the city, to fix illegal street layouts, which are common.

    That being said, you usually do not go to the bad parts of a city, while on vaccation. Spain has some extremely car brained infrastructure as well.
