  • We need to destroy Russias ability to threaten the EU and remove Putin and any other similar leader from power in Russia. That should be the goal of the EU and not to go into a full scale war with Russia. Seriously Putin is not winning that war. The Russian civilian economy is shrinking fast, Russias war reserves are depleting, oil income is falling, soldiers are being lost on a massive scale with a demogrophics, which does not allow for that, and Russias weapons reserves from Soviet times are falling. Russia has two or three years of full scale war in it. The only thing we need to do is to keep Ukraine in the fight, while destroying as much of Russia as possible.

  • The phaseout of fossil fuel cars required a qualified majority. That means that as long as two out of Germany, France, Poland, Spain and Italy are for it, it is going to stay. Also some other votes are needed, but that is basically it.

    Also the CDU needs a coalition partner and that means either SPD or Greens, which voted for the phase out, or AFD at which point the problem of smoke from cars is the least problem in Germany.

    That was 35 years ago and in the mean time the Soviet Union collapsed and they are in a war with Ukraine. If I were to bet Ukraine has more Russian spies then Germany right now. Just because they are trying a lot harder.

Juni 2026 eine Heizungsanlage ausgetauscht und eine andere Heizungsanlage zum Zweck der Inbetriebnahme eingebaut oder aufgestellt und betrieben werden, die nicht die Vorgaben des Absatzes 1 erfüllt. In einem bestehenden Gebäude, das in einem Gemeindegebiet liegt, in dem am 1. Januar 2024 100 000 Einwohner oder weniger gemeldet sind, kann bis zum Ablauf des 30. Juni 2028 eine Heizungsanlage ausgetauscht und eine andere Heizungsanlage zum Zweck der Inbetriebnahme eingebaut oder aufgestellt und betrieben werden, die nicht die Vorgaben des Absatzes 1 erfüllt. Sofern das Gebäude in einem Gebiet liegt, für das vor Ablauf des 30. Juni 2026 im Fall des Satzes 1 oder vor Ablauf des 30. Juni 2028 im Fall des Satzes 2 durch die nach Landesrecht zuständige Stelle unter Berücksichtigung eines Wärmeplans, der auf der Grundlage einer bundesgesetzlichen Regelung zur Wärmeplanung erstellt wurde, eine Entscheidung über die Ausweisung als Gebiet zum Neu- oder Ausbau eines Wärmenetzes oder als Wasserstoffnetzausbaugebiet getroffen wurde, sind die Anforderungen nach Absatz 1 einen Monat nach Bekanntgabe dieser Entscheidung anzuwenden. Gemeindegebiete, in denen nach Ablauf des 30. Juni 2026 im Fall des Satzes 1 oder nach Ablauf des 30. Juni 2028 im Fall des Satzes 2 keine Wärmeplanung vorliegt, werden so behandelt, als läge eine Wärmeplanung vor.

  • Der Sommer wird noch lustig. Der Ausbau von Solar kommt wirklich gut voran und das bedeutet, dass wir diesen Sommer so viel Sonnenstrom haben werden, dass wir in sonnigen Stunden den ganzen Strom aus erneuerbaren erzeugen können und das ohne noch besonders viel Wind haben zu müssen. Das tut natürlich den Braunkohlekraftwerken wirklich weh. Besonders bei dem jetzt schon recht niedrigen Gaspreis.

    Sprich da läufte es schon ganz gut. Heizungsgesetz ist auch durch, Verbrennerverbot auf EU Ebene beschlossen und der Emissionshandel ausgedehnt. Ich weiß das viele sich über unsere jetzige Bundesregierung beschweren, aber in Sachen Klimaschutz geht es echt voran. Es dauert halt nur alles etwas.

  • No, there were negotiations for the reunification of Germany and during those a few Western officals offered not to go further east. However that ended up not being part of the final treaties. In fact the 2+4 Treaty, which the Soviets signed does clearly state that ALL of Germany is part of NATO, with NATO troops being allowed to be stationed in former East Germany as well. Obviously that is just Germany, but in no other country, did the Soviets have any sort of legal reason to deny joing NATO what sort ever.

    So no this is just Russian propaganda and not to be taken seriously.

  • Die Alten haben nur 18,9% ihres Einkommens eingezahlt, während die Jüngeren 22,3% zahlen sollen. Zusätzlich wird auch noch mehr Geld aus dem Bundeshaushalt hinzugeschossen, was früher nicht der Fall war. Gleichzeitig wird die Rente bei 48% des vorherigen Gehaltes angepasst nach Lohnerhöhungen vorgeführt und das Renteneintrittsalter hinter den Boomer erhöht.

    Sprich die Jüngeren müssen mehr und länger zahlen als die Älteren vor ihnen und die Älteren haben keine Nachteile.

    Der Grund dafür ist, dass die Boomer in Rente gehen und dadurch mehr Rentner auf weniger Beitragszahler kommen. Sprich es muss sich was verschieben. Das ist seit Jahrzehnten bekannt. Also wäre es durchaus möglich gewesen durch eine Staatsfond oder ähnliches vorzusorgen, der durch höhere Beitragszahlungen der Boomer finanziert würde. So allerdings zahlen die Jüngeren die Rechnung für die Boomer. Kennt man leider zu genügen auch aus Klimaschutz, der Bahn, Bildung und ähnlichem.

  • For anybody wondering. France has a strategy of strategic ambiguity. That means they always leave all options open, so they can change their minds and also have the enemy guessing. That is why their are no red lines. It is fundamentally against French strategy. However it does not mean that France sends soldiers to Ukraine or anything like that.

    A great example why it makes a lot of sense is Scholz. He was initially against sending Marder, Leopard, artillery and a lot more weapon systems, but later and not even too much later changed his mind. This did piss of countries like Poland and obviously Ukraine for no reason, create bad press and it means that Scholz saying no is somewhat of a temporary thing, which weakens his position in negotitations. If he had said that he has not decided to send those weapons to Ukraine, the entire time, then he would have had a lot less of an issue.

    So please do not read too much into this. For France what matters, is if they say they are going to do something., not maybes.

  • Russia abadoning Armenia was really a bad call. Georgia wants to be an EU member badly and Armenia also has a somewhat democratic system. The only thing missing is Azerbijan. That would open up Central Asia to the West. With Russia threatening Kazkhastan this could really put Russia in a bad geopolitical position.

  • You are absolutely right they didn’t manage to break through the line, but I never thought that was the purpose of the campaign against Avdiivka.

    No, but it makes perfect sense to try. Ukraine did have a lot of troops and equipment out in the open in unprotected positions and the new positions were likely to be at least partly manned by the soldiers leaving Avdiivka. So good time to try.

  • Avdiivka was a well protected position and the new defensive line is quite a bit further West from Avdiivka. So Russia had to take some ground to reach it and Ukraine made them pay, but without really having good terrain to really put up a strong fight. It also means Russia has no good positions to hide and logistics are stretched. So they did not manage to break through the line, but just moved it further to the West.
