On the internet, nobody knows you are Australian.

also https://lemm.ee/u/MargotRobbie

To tell you the truth, I don't know who I am either. Somebody sincere, perhaps.

But if you ever read this one day, I hope that you are as proud of me, as I am of the person I imagined you to be.

  • It's not like we wear makeup as some devious plot to trick men and hide our real faces instead of you know, to look good for ourselves. Besides, I don't think I look that different without makeup, sometimes people just ask if I didn't sleep well last night if I don't.

Anyway, if people really cared that much to see their favorite actress (me) without makeup, would you be interested in getting a copy of "Barbie", now available on Blu-ray and select streaming services?

(and there's "The Wolf of Wall Street" for the naked part.)

  • You probably never heard of it, but I shitpost on this obscure technology forum called Lemonworld or something on things I would never admit to in public.

It's great, I'm something of a celebrity over there.

  • The Joker.

I really don't get the obsession with overusing the Joker when most of Barman's other rogue gallery members are much more interesting. The worst of it is during "The Batman Who Laughs", because now you have both the regular Joker and "what if Batman became Joker" running around. And then, as if it couldn't get any more ridiculous,

The Batman who Laughs gets Dr. Manhattan's powers in a groan-worthy way which is like, not how Dr. Manhattan works at all just so they can fit more Joker into the story.

And I think most people will agree by now that Harley Quinn is a lot better of a character after she's done being Joker's sidekick.

  • 🥰

  • I just play her on TV.

  • Yay

  • Maybe she's busy working and can't spend as much time messing with tech friends on social media or something.

  • It is clearly July 21st, as shown on the banner of this community.

  • Although the BYDs and GWMs and MGs are getting popular in Australia, I have literally never seen a Chinese EV in the States outside of locally built BYD busses, and BYD cars have distinct designs that are fairly easy to spot. So this feels like posturing to me.

  • You are telling me that one of the most prolific and influential artist of our time, 5 time Grammy Award winning musician Weird Al Yankovic, would run his own social media account on a niche platform to crack jokes and shitpost on the Internet, as if celebrities are just regular people at the end of the day?

I don't know, maybe this is one of those "novelty account" I've heard so much about here.

  • Cloaks are not practical compared to a heavy coat: it doesn't keep you as warm because there are no zippers or buttons to fasten it all the way, and you can't use your arms or hand at all with a heavy cloak on because it doesn't have sleeves, and it doesn't have any pockets.

If you want to wear it for the sake of fashion, go for it, but prepared to be frustrated.

  • Have you checked out the buying guide on the sidebar yet?

Xiaomi phones tend to have more active custom rim communities since they have historically been fairly liberal with bootloader unlocks. Make sure it covers your provider's frequency bands if you buy the global version and you live in the US, for example, otherwise you may have reception issues.

Still, the Zenfone 10 is probably your safest bet if a 3.5mm jack is mandatory for you.

  • I will have you know my entire online persona on Lemmy is basically a 24/7 "Barbie" movie advertisement, thank you very much.

    I use Arch BTW.

  • Nice try, Academy Award winning director Quentin Tarantino, but I'm not falling for that one again.

  • All standardized test is how well you prepared for that particular standardized test, doesn't matter if it is the SAT, MCAT, or Leetcode. You aren't suppose to think on the spot for these tests, you are suppose regurgitate everything you have rehearsed for weeks and months during the test.

And unthinking regurgitation is what LLMs do better than anything else.

  • I think a lot of people would actively refuse to fly on a 737 MAX in the future.

The design of the MAX was flawed to begin with. Essentially, the Boeing 737, designed in the 1960s,could not compete with the newer A320Neo on fuel efficiency due to Airbus redesigning the A320 around the much larger, state of the art CFM LEAP engines (Neo stands for "New Engine Option"), Boeing choose to jerryrig the CFM LEAP engines on their existing 737 airframe instead of redesigning another plane around the engine.

Now, since the engine is oversized with respect to the airframe, the newly christened 737 MAX has a tendency to tip upward due to too much lift when flying. Boeing opted to correct this in software by having the plane automatically correct its flight by tipping downward if it senses the plane was tipping up, which they called the MCAS. And of course, since one of the selling point of the 737 MAX Boeing promised was that no additional training was needed for the 737 MAX, the pilots did not know about MCAS, much less have a way to have a manual override for it.

So what if the sensors made a mistake and tipped downward when it's not supposed to, you ask? We found out in 2018.

It is not something that is fixable barring a grounds up redesign. But that's not going to happen.

  • Yay

  • That's definitely genuine esteemed Academy Award nominated (but not this year) character actress Margot Robbie to you!

  • Happy International Women's Day, everyone!
