  • CalyxOS on a google pixel.

    Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!

Easy installation, just unlock the bootloader and enable adb in settings and plug into a computer and run the installer.

CalyxOS is set it and forget it. It will update itself seamlessly unlike other free Androids and unlike stock Androids. No maintainacnce. Support will likely continue after the manufacturer kills off your device.

Automatic updates and one click installs from f-droid. On calyx its even easier to install free as in freedom apps than it is to install the garbage on Google play.

You can still run your shitty non-free apps from google play (using the aurora store, a free as in freedom app to download google play apps from google play) if someone is forcing you to install their crap.

  • Yes! Go human rights! Viva la revolución!

  • Feodora and Debian have a GNOME experience that has not been ruined to make less innovative in favor of making the UX more similar (and therefore familiar) to that of the worst desktop operating system available (windows).

If you've seen but never really used GNOME in a daily workflow it looks and feels alien. Thats becausethey devs are trying to make something that is friendly to the people who actually use it and intuitive to the people who are new to desktop computing, and they are making no attemt to appease thoes who believe that it is impossible to do better than Microsoft has with Windows.

If you've never really used it (and have used ms windows), Vanilla GNOME is alien to you. If you have really used it, nothing else is yet on its level.

  • Thats not because its decentralized its because stock people think crypto is a gambling game with ods in thir favor, and its not accepted as money at many stores. If a large govt like the US or EU decreed that some specific ordinary cryptocuency was legaly equivalent to their currency and must be acceptied as such, that would instantly end the volatility.

Its just too bad that using an open currency is apparently not the plan for the EU. (According to the ppl here)

  • I've got wireguard and my Fedora (GNU/Linux) server set up to provde internet access to peers. Using a self hosted in home VPN to access netflix from other households should be a rubust way to appear as a single household to Netflix. Thing is the other household uses a smart TV, so in the probable case that we cant install wireguard on that, maybe a PI in that household would be better.
