I'm actually enjoying Unbound rn, but I like rap and Latin music with explicit language. I do agree the story dialogue is trash though. Rydell is definitely the most tolerable character. I thought the Lake being named Lake Virgil was a nice memorial to Virgil Abloh.
Oh it's from genius? That makes sense, those tags are user/lyric editor determined. Theres no way I'm tracking that person down to provide a history lesson 😂
I noticed that I commented on the cross post and not the original, so here:
No disrespect, but this isn't Trap, neither was that song by Eminem and Logic.Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States, with lyrical references to trap starting in 1991 but the modern sound of trap appearing in 1999. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang term "trap house", a house used exclusively to sell drugs.
Trap also applies to a subgenre or EDM now, but my point is putting "conscious rap" and "trap" as the genres of the same song is a bit of an oxymoron, unless they are rapping about selling drugs that expand your consciousness.
I kinda do the same thing. I'll go through spurts of posting in music communities here (as well as commenting, for better or worse) and I use Beeper to check my discord and twitter group chats, but I mostly bounce between Lemmy and Bluesky, if only to avoid "the algorithm" and the non stop scrolling that comes with it.
I mean that I became more interested in FOSS, privacy, and cybersecurity because I was (and remain) angry at reddit and all walled garden ass social media platforms.
I became the typical Lemmy user with interests in the topics you dislike because of the nature of the reddit migration, but I have to agree with the lack of skinfolk humor. It's kind of a bummer.
Nebula is one app I hear yt creators mention often. Specifically FD Signifier and Foreign Man in A Foreign Land, but there are many other creators who use it too. There is also Greyjay, which I think is built specifically for what you are asking.
Pete got that WAGON on em.
