As far as I can tell ReadEra non-premium doesn't have any ads. This means the paid version is only about buying extra features rather than removing ads. This is a very respectable business model in a world where almost every other app out there tries to annoy you with ads until you pay them.
I use ReadEra regularly, but I think I'm going to buy the premium version since you brought it to my attention. The syncing feature could come in handy between my phone and tablet.
I host a website on my Synology as well as frequently connect to it via SFTP. I don't know how secure it is, but I don't keep anything secret on there to begin with. At least based on permission settings it shouldn't be possible to access anything you aren't set up to.
I've also been looking into setting up a pi-hole so I would be curious what kind of affect that would have on a Synology on the same network.
There are a couple really spectacular scenes that I really want to see visualized. In my head I extrapolated what the last 3 books would look like based on the series visualizations which made them like watching the show. That last scene with Draper though.. that would be a sight to behold.
Did they really get away with it? It seems like they shot themselves in the foot with pointless rebranding and their sad attempts at whatever the metaverse is. In the end they lost a ton of money
I am really close to watching the whole thing a 2nd time. Besides being genuinely a great show it has a lot of lines that are pretty hilarious out of context.
What about on a Huawei phone? If it wasn't there to begin with and had to be installed I'd expect it could also be uninstalled. I don't have a Huawei phone to test it out.
By the traditional definition they are kind of wrong. I don't agree at all with Googles relentless data harvesting and ads, but the software isn't going to make copies to hide itself on your phone and make it difficult to remove. You would be able to uninstall it like any other app without it leaving anything behind.
I'm not convinced we have even begun to scratch the surface in developing AGI. I'm also not convinced it is even possible using conventional computer hardware.
