republicans know full well what they're trying to do, they're disaster capitilists. crashing the economy is their end-goal every time they're elected and normally they succeed.
why give then any benefit of doubt? they know exactly what they're doing...republicans are disaster capitlists first and formost, quickest way to make a $ and trading on early/inside information around a disaster and when nature won't give you one you can just make your own.

the states/cities have better safety nets than others but across most of the country...might as well be non-existent outside of the handful of scraps the feds throw down (when those arent being actively fucked with by republicans)
why would the US want to replace Putin, it was the US that helped his rise to power.
