  • Before you go too far down the 3D printed resin route, look and see if laser cut acrylic might work for your needs. There are services where you upload a vector file, and they’ll cut out a piece of clear plastic with whatever shape and thickness you need. At that point you just need to sandwich the pieces together and apply some fasteners.

  • Sure, why not? They look almost identical.

  • If one of my posts draws in three more subscribers, I finally get my Tom Paris commemorative plate.

  • This is wonderful. 🖖

  • True, but it makes for less amusing acronym jokes.

Also, whoops, I really should have checked the username before Discovery-splaining in the comments. I know you’ve been back for a bit, but good to see you around Stamets. 👋

  • You can make this whole spectrum with unambiguous and canonical Discovery characters alone.

    • Lesbian: Jett
    • Gay: Stamets & Culber
    • Bisexual: Georgiou
    • Transgender: Gray
    • Queer: Adira (Non-Binary)
    • Plus: Michael Burnham, who’s also involved for some reason

To say nothing of the representation on Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds. New Trek’s been killing it.

  • If Resurgence taught me anything, listen to your first officer.

  • They push icon metaphors forward~ ✨

  • They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.

  • All I know is that there’s a disturbing amount of weapons tests, alien artifacts, engineering experiments happening immediately out of frame in every image.

  • The only ruthless thing here is how ruthlessly efficient the Voyager writers were. A multi-episode crewman traitor arc without any of the messy logistics of determining if or how they could confine him to the brig for years? Jonas didn't even get the Suder treatment.

  • Come to think of it, with the right subtitle files one could probably make some neat infographics about the number of words said per character in each show.

  • Worf likely has the highest number of episode appearances. Now you’ve got me wondering about literal time on screen of some of these characters. Spock might give him a run for his money if you count all the different actors.

  • Have you taken a look at Star Trek: Resurgence at all? It’s a recent Telltale-style Star Trek adventure game taking place in the post-Dominion War Star Trek universe. It follows a new cast of characters on a random science vessel getting into Star Trek shenanigans. There’s some small lore callbacks and cameos, but it’s mostly just trying to tell its own 12 hour story.

  • That sounds excellent! This was just a quick weeknight ad-lib. I’ve been traveling a lot lately and was craving something fresh. If I had a bit more time I might have swapped out the green onion for some pickled shallot to give it more color variety.

  • It varies between fish whether or not you want to keep the skin on while cooking. Some just turn to rubber if you try to sear them. Salmon skin comes out a bit like crispy chicken skin. It adds some nice texture and meaty flavor. But everyone’s got their own preferences.

  • “Adam discovers that the video game on his Game Gear matches the events around him and finds he can control some events through his Sega.”

I’m not sure what’s more surreal. The plot synopses of this film, of the fact that Wikipedia’s editors referred to it as, “His Sega”.

In the swirl of Karate Kid, Three Ninjas, and Surf Ninjas, I had somehow completely forgotten the Sega tie in with this movie.

  • Wait, is that the plot of Surf Ninjas? 😂
