  • No you won't

  • Easiest way to design it would probably be by making it a NC circuit so they brake unless they have power to open the brake cylinders.

  • But this is the same as just having a split electrical circuit to a brake-by-wire solution. It's only a pseudo-redundant system because you still rely on a single type of mechanical connection to brakes.

  • Right now there's also not any failsafes for the break lines failing

  • If it is one-way communication it should always be email. If it's something that requires direct simultaneous input from more than 2 people, discussion on best way forward, or it's time critical always make a meeting. People always fail to answer emails in a timely manner, and when they do they only answer half the questions you asked them. So you end up going back and forth for 3 weeks before you have your answers for something that would have been resolved in a single meeting in the first week. And itgets exponentially worse with 3+ people.

Oh and the amount of people that straight up ignore email requesting information from them is staggering...fuck those people.

  • I'm not sure how card payments work in the US, but here the terminals have offline-mode where the purchases are just stored locally until it comes online again.

If there's a total blackout, having cash maybe be better (but absolutely no guarantee they're usable at the grocery store)...but there's a whole lot of other much more pressing issues in that case.

  • Just use your browser and Proton Free tier VPN and you're set.

  • What would this "adult" app be used for? Porn? Hookups? Finding No-kids-allowed restaurants?

  • Not including the cuts mentioned here, it looks like meta has reduced the number of employees by about 20% so far compared to last years highest count.

The other have seemingly kept hiring so their staff cuts have not shown in official numbers as far as I can tell. source

  • Man everyone just hates on Al these days, but I thinks he's a pretty chill dude despite being a little weird.

  • Definitely go 0mm when using PLA as support for PETG, it makes a much better bottom surface on the model because they don't bond.

  • this will push people to learn new ways to read their books

The majority will probably just get a newer kindle model

  • I mean, like you know PETG doesn't bond at all to PLA, so you're almost trying to extrude PETG in a circle mid-air. There's so little friction/adhesion to PLA that the nozzle simply drags the extruded PETG along with it, it's like trying to extrude first layer but with Z-offset set way too high so the extrusion barely squishes against the plate.

My best guess is to try and turn the speed way down and see if it will help...like <50mm/s

  • If you accelerate fast enough, it exits even faster.

This is the problem, not cheap chairs

  • Well, this post is seemingly enjoyable to 34 people, do these people then not matter because of the 70 that don't like it?

  • Moderation needs to be done with clear rules upfront so people know what they can and cannot post. Moderating based on downvotes compared to upvotes is a terrible way to moderate because it is horribly inconsistent and unpredictable.

Edit: and people in general have an overwhelming tendency to use downvotes to show disagreement, which is not the same as the post being bad.

  • I don't think OPs posts or this comic strip is in violation of any rules for this community, there is really no grounds for banning just because the posts are downvoted a lot.

  • Hot damn that place is dead...
