  • The modern "design" decision to squish everything into the center of the screen is soooo dumb. I really don't get the appeal of having to scroll twice as much or more just to get through a post.

  • I'm definitely planning on using Lemmy exclusively for a while, at the least. Not planning on deleting anything (yet), though I am going to request a copy of my data.

I'm not ok with anything Reddit's done lately, but not interested in taking drastic action quite yet.

  • Dunno if it's your jam, but I just picked up Dead Cells and it's super light weight power wise. Also, retro emulation is usually pretty good on the battery. Get Emudeck going and some GB or GBA games and have a blast.

  • The soundtrack to Sayonara Wild Hearts is killer. Love that game.

  • Lowered by roughly 15%. Not huge, but noticeable.

  • That's still a benefit to Reddit, though. I'm torn, because Reddit's archive of threads is a great trove of information, but to hit them where it hurts, the flow of users needs to be restricted as much as possible.

  • Selfishly - A place to essentially have content delivered in an easy to find/use format 24/7.

Less Selfishly - A place to take part in discussions on shared interests & hobbies.

Unrealistically - A Reddit-like archive of posts to help in troubleshooting or recommending things. Pretty much impossible to replicate what Reddit has at the moment, and, if I understand how Lemmy works well enough atm, not something that's going to happen on Lemmy.

  • Personally, while I've decided to stay off Reddit for the foreseeable future, I am gonna hop back on here and there to more or less finalize my stuff there. My "cakeday" is in a week or so, so I figure that's a good final day to say goodbye.

My soft timeline is to stay off for the year and see where things stand then.

  • I plopped a bunch that I liked in there and have the shuffle option enabled. There's just too many to choose a favorite!
