  • A former president that tried to blackmail them into digging up dirt on his opposition by denying military support. That Zelenskyy is still kind in his words about Trump at all is a testament to his character.

  • "Ran" is a strong word.

  • To be clear, I'm not saying that OP or anyone else shouldn't miss what they had on Reddit. There are lots of things Lemmy won't replicate or explicitly can't. It was more a comment on the common complaints I see about how this community or that poster or this content is "dominating" their feed (which I discerned hints of in OP's post), when it's exceedingly easy to just remove the offending content from said feed. Will it 100% solve everyone's problems? No. But it will almost certainly improve their experience concerning those complaints.

  • PM or email. Same thing - a direct message to the people that can actually do something about it and, more importantly, have the authority to decide if they should do something about it. (*And to be clear, I only said PM because that's the term you used. Sorry for sticking with established terminology, I guess).

And this in fact isn't !moderators@lemmy.world, so no, posting here isn't what the admin said to do.

  • Nice! Thanks for sharing!

  • Am I just weird?

For not just using headphones? A little, yeah.

  • Part of the Social Security website (ssa.gov) only works during certain hours

  • I think it's less "this line is for emergencies" and more "our online process could takes days to get a response, here's a line to a real human".

  • Let's be clear here. It's much more appropriate to pmemail the admins than it is to start up a drama thread about a specific user. Your end goal is the same either way, but posting a thread publicly blasting another user is overboard.

  • If you're uncomfortable with the content you're seeing, you should be more active in moderating that. Block users, block communities, stick to your subscription feed, etc. People in these spaces so often seem to resign themselves to having to deal with content they don't like when they can absolutely change it on their own.

Take more autonomy in curating your experience here and you'll have a much better time.

  • Nah. What's weird is you thinking everyone should follow your strict rules about national segregation online.

If it's such a problem for you, instead of begging everyone else to fit your narrow world view, go find an instance that works better for you. Or, when you don't because that's ridiculous, make your own and block it off from everyone else not following your rules. Then you might be happy.

  • You can walk, it's still going for 3 more days.

  • I thought it might be a weird art thing too, but all of the games are listed under the category on the store page. It's definitely odd.

  • I simply can't pick a single favorite artwork. There's just too much amazing work. As for style, probably the Mystical Archive series. They're so great.

  • They seriously nailed it with the storybook styles as the first iteration in Eldraine, and that was probably my favorite. The stark contrast and minimalistic colors are just really nice.

It also feels like they're loosening up on the "official" artwork and letting in more and more interesting stuff like that as time goes on, which is awesome.

  • Like oil companies like Chevron are in the top 10 based on all the cars that use their gas.

That's not really different than other companies, though, is it? Every company on the planet only produces carbon emissions in the effort to gain a profit in some way, through shipping, farming, etc. If we're going to hold companies accountable for things like shipping emissions and waste, gas companies shouldn't get a pass just because their product is the thing making the emissions.

  • Every article on climate change should include the top companies and individuals contributing to carbon pollution.

  • Let's play "Spot the protagonist of a YA dystopia series".

  • That was my thought. Impossible to say in just a few months, of course, but here's hoping it's legit!

  • Not sure if I just lack the morbid curiosity most people have, but I never understood the draw to look for those things. I'd hear about them and just put it on a mental list to never touch.
