Canadian comrade and Marxist-Leninist.

  • Strong enough to give a Liberal and brief, yet noticeable high. Then, back to work.

  • I like to envision something like Tito's partisan forces being created and used to fight American fascists. Fighting not for the existing state, but rather fighting for a new dictatorship of the proletariat.

  • I agree. But I think something I want to keep in mind is that if there ever came a time when the US does invade Canada, I would not fight for the status quo of present-day bourgeois Canada.

I would fight as part of an insurgency against America if there was a socialist/communist partisan force that I was ideologically aligned with. I don't want to fight out of nationalism, I would wish to fight from a basis of anti-imperialism and anti-capitalism.

  • Of course opposing fascist US hegemony is a good thing, what I'm more trying to say is that my country, Canada, still is under the US thumb.

The problem is that too many Liberals are nationalists, and they choose to fight the US over Canadian nationalism. I oppose a US invasion under the grounds of anti-imperialism and national liberation.

  • Why worry when Canada is already a vassal state of the US?

  • True. Imo, if there was such a scenario, the goal would be to basically turn any insurgent group into a revolutionary one, either by intent or effect.

  • Disarms the working class

"We will mount an insurgency in the name of the current state of Canada!"

  • Exactly - the problem isn't who they are fighting, it's what they are fighting for.

As a Canadian, I wouldn't fight for the existing state, but I would fight for a socialist/communist-aligned partisan force if given the opportunity.
