  • Show me the proof where he said he is anti-union.

  • What alternative was there? This is such a disingenuous take.

  • Yeah, I guess the accuser really should have been the one to pay tens of thousands to a third party right?

I’m fairly sure that nothing could change your mind at this point, but by all means keep spreading your misinformation.

  • Burden of proof is on the accuser.

I can’t prove a negative, but he has stated multiple times that he is pro union.

Additionally, the 3rd party law firm that investigated the ex employee’s claims against LMG (the company) found that:

Claims of bullying and harassment were not substantiated.

Allegations that sexual harassment were ignored or not addressed were false.

You should also note that the former employee never accused Linus Sebastian (the individual) of being a sex pest. Certain people lie about this constantly on the internet, and others believe it is true without verifying the facts

  • He's also vocally anti-labor organization and anti-union.

Arguably he's also pro workplace sexual harassment…

Untrue on both counts, but I’d love to see a source that proves me wrong

  • Streaming video is expensive. LTT did it with Floatplane, even going so far as to develop their own backend. Watcher and some other YouTubers did it with Vimeo as their backend, but Vimeo still takes a large cut.

At the end of the day, people are doing this, but YouTube still offers a compelling value compared to other platforms. It’s hard to beat their scale, sophistication, and the discoverability of their platform.

  • To add to this, carry-ons dramatically slow the boarding process, which adds to the overall cost of the flight. Charging for carry-ons makes it easier for flights to be consistently on-time, which is why airlines prefer to have fewer of them

Turning an airplane around is not a quick process, and anything that can be done to speed that it up saves the airline time and money.

  • Ideally you drain window units every couple of weeks, when you clean the filters. Once a year a deeper cleaning is a good idea. One where you take the cover off, clean all the built up gunk out, and then let it dry. You can use a cleaning spray specific for air conditioners, or even just water for a significant improvement.

I typically use the cheapest “no rinse” cleaning spray for air conditioners that Home Depot sells, a toothbrush, and lots of water before/after. It really extends the life of the unit, preventing the build up of mold and improving the units efficiency.

  • Brave Search has !bangs and an independant search index. Kagi relies heavily on it.

  • This is the same kind of horseshit opinion that led to the logic of “we don’t negotiate with terrorists.”

There is nothing wrong with trying to find common ground with people you disagree with. Life is not a zero sum game, and I’m sick and tired of all this needless and divisive outrage. Ya’ll need to chill the fuck out and quit attacking everyone that is less than perfect from your perspective.

  • Text, photos, CT scans, stats, testing, graphs, etc. Still a work in progress, but it’s come a long way.

  • I’ve personally gone with an N100 Mini PC running Proxmox and two of these daisy-chained (purchased on sale). https://www.amazon.com/MAIWO-Enclosure-Cooling-Storage-Expansion/dp/B0D28Q187R/

The MAIWO DAS uses garbage JMicron firmware by default, and there are significant issues with their sleep functions. Because of that, it took me forever to figure out why SnapRAID kept failing mid-sync. Fortunately, new firmware seems to have fixed their issues and they’ve been rock solid ever since. I specifically had to update the firmware for all 4 of the USB controllers on each DAS.

  • Yeah, from my experience I believe Kagi’s results are like 90%+ pulled from Brave’s search index. I like the concept of Kagi, but I prefer SearXNG as a search aggregator.

  • When the citations are on point, I like AI search. 9 times out of 10 I care enough to read the source though.

However, there are still way too many hallucinations when it comes to sources in my experience. It just wastes my time when I go to verify and find that AI just spat out garbage.

  • Anyone have an opinion on Perplexity compared to Brave Search?

I really value Brave having their own independent search index. Google, Bing, and Yandex have dominated the space for quite some time.

I know Perplexity claims to have a small / curated independent index, but I’m not really sure how true that is.

  • Against my better judgement, I’ll take a crack at this.

American racism, as displayed in the Family Guy meme, is based on skin color. In Israel/Palestine, racism is not based on skin color. Jews aren’t all light skinned, and Arabs aren’t all dark skinned.

  • Nope. It’s a prominent one, but by no means the “main” media outlet. It’s also largely in opposition to Netanyahu and his coalition.

    Source:

As of July 31, 2023, a TGI survey indicated that Israel Hayom, distributed for free, is Israel's most read newspaper, with a 29.4% weekday readership exposure, followed by Yedioth Ahronoth, with 22.3%, Haaretz with 4.8%, Globes with 4% and Maariv with 3.9%.[1]

  • I’m sure in a future thread we’ll get a comment saying something like:
