  • So basically what someone wrote above: "what's important is that me and my family and property are safe". Fantastic way to live in a society with other people.

Other people complain about the bright lights, but they get real quiet when you say you hit a deer and now you have to pay hundreds you can’t afford to fix your car.

What are you saying? Why would other people get quiet about what's bothering them because you have to repair your car? Why is that everybody else's problem? You are aware that you could slow down at night to avoid hitting wildlife, right? Blinding other innocent people at night is not "being proactive", and it's in no way morally comparable to ad blockers. The people being subjected to this aren't trying to harvest your data to make money on you.

  • “The schools we go to are reflections of the society that created them. Nobody is going to give you the education you need to overthrow them. Nobody is going to teach you your true history, teach you your true heroes, if they know that that knowledge will help set you free.” -Assata Shakur

  • In what world is this the case? Boerboel, Cane Corso, Presa Canario, Filha Brasilero, these are all 50+ kg dogs that are in no way docile. And there are plenty of smaller breeds that are docile. I think the main reason is that, as an owner of a large breed, you have to train your dog to some extent, or it will seriously hurt someone. Smaller breed owners often seem content with just picking up their dog in their arms when they get aggressive, or just laughing it away by calling it feisty or a diva or some other nonsense. Being an irresponsible small dog owner simply doesn't come with the same down sides as being an irresponsible muscle dog owner.

  • I'd say pay more up front and get a quality device, it'll save you money in the long run. For a desktop device, which I definitely recommend: budget - Arizer Q tower, and imo, best - Volcano. I like the classic. I also use a Crafty plus for a portable one, and I just use caps that I fill. Cannot recommend that enough. Helps minimize the need to clean, and I can change caps in public without anyone raising an eyebrow. But the Storz & Bickel gear is definitely pricey. However, I've had my current Volcano for 8 years, and I never turn it off. Still runs excellent, so I'd say it was worth the price and then some.

  • Aliphatic compounds, there are numerous. I buy this thing in Sweden with a handy nozzle to get to all surfaces, and it evaporates leaving minimal trace.

  • If anything, Russia is using the long established playbook belonging to the US.

  • This clown just defended Israel's genocide with a straight face while calling October 7 a genocide. How can anyone take this kind of person seriously?

  • Colonial mindset is strong in this comment. Africans are poor (wonder why?), and kept poor by western elites. Kept in a condition where they have to prioritize eating before conservation. So the same elites who keep them poor, need to come in and give the people a "reason to care about preserving their natural environments", not by helping the society, but by killing big game for money so they can pose with their trophies.

Also, big game hunters are not bloodthirsty killers, they pay millions to kill animals not for bragging rights, but to help conservation. Just ask Don Jr. They even do a lot to minimize the suffering of the animal, out of the goodness of their hearts apparently, and not because that's a basic rule of hunting that you have to follow if you wanna keep hunting. Those dumb Africans need sensible hunters to teach them about conservation, don't you know?

  • Antifa is, as far as I know, the US abbreviation for Anti Fascist Action. This was an organization founded in the eighties in the UK with decentralized local chapters with the ability to mobilize. They were out in the streets violently confronting the fascists. It died out in the late nineties

Copy cat groupings had started appearing in other European countries by that time. In Sweden, we called them AFA. The antifa logo I've seen in US media is the logo of Anti Fascist Action. But that's just my understanding.

  • I disagree. The US is ultimately responsible and should pay everyone else. The US has enabled Israel, its attack dog, to torture everyone in the region. Without the US, Israel would have had to adopt a different attitude towards its neighbors if it planned on surviving in West Asia.

  • Fetterman, Randy Fine, Trump, Lindsey Graham, Rubio, Ted Cruz. It's amazing to think about how his gallery of absolute revolting ghouls have all received the majority of votes in an election in the US. The American public have preferred these freaks to whatever was the alternative.

I don't know how the US can be salvaged. At the minimum, a massive portion of the country needs to be sent to reeducation camps.

  • reinforce North Korea's view

I think you mean conclusively prove North Korea's view to be correct

  • The assembly of experts choosing the next leader is staffed by only clerics, no military personnel.

  • Really? Have you not seen Stephen Miller? Ok, maybe for him we should go that final inch too.

  • From the article: "While teachers may be intending for these tools to be strictly educational, students often have different ideas. According to a 2014 study, which surveyed and observed 3,000 university students, students engaged in off-task activities on their computers nearly two-thirds of the time.

Horvath blamed this tendency to get off-track as a key contributor to technology hindering learning. When one’s attention is interrupted, it takes time to refocus. Task-switching also is associated with weaker memory formation and greater rates of error. Grappling with a challenging singular subject matter is hard, Horvath said. For the best learning to happen, it’s supposed to be."

The technology encourages task switching, which is detrimental in situations where one is supposed to focus on a single challenging task in order to optimize learning. So in this case, I'd say it's the technology itself that is unsuitable for the task at hand. Clacking keys is fine, I went to university in the late nineties and computers were already an important part of my education. But I didn't have access to the internet on a powerful pocketable device during lectures. The computers were in the computer rooms.

  • Well done, you sure told me buddy, good job! Not weak and pathetic at all.

  • "Your type"? What type is that? Chinese plant? And I "simp for billionaires"? Are you high? Lol, I have no idea what you're on about, but you don't seem to feel well, get better.

I didn't even criticize your going after China. That's fine, argue your point, convince me. What I criticized was a reflexive turn to calling people bots and plants as soon as they don't agree with your point. That is whiny, and comes from weakness. You won't change anyone's mind with that whiny garbage, you'll just get pats on the back from those who already agree with you. Going for those pats instead of actually arguing your point shows that you're weak, and not a good proponent of anti-chinese views. Grow up and read a little. This can be a platform for exchanging ideas and teaching/learning, instead of just attacking anyone who disagrees even slightly.
