  • I've also read in a few locations that flaresolver supposedly doesn't work anymore, but it seems to be chugging along just fine in my setup. If I try to use the 1337x tracker without flaresolver, retrievals will fail every time. Including a screenshot here of the most recent flaresolver logs. I do run flaresolver through my VPN connection - not sure if that would have anything to do with it.

  • Ah, I see. I've just been lucky with my setup, then. I keep Radarr/Prowlarr synced with the Trash Guides. I also have Cleanuparr set up to keep my torrent queue clean, and it includes a malware component that tells qbit to ignore most non-media file extensions.

  • Why? My Prowlarr stats show that, after Usenet, 1337 has the most successful retrievals of the torrent trackers I use.

Is it more of an issue of trying to find things manually? My setup is all automated, so maybe the bad stuff is just getting weeded out? I could definitely be having some confirmation bias here since I rarely have to find something manually.

  • Right? This one tool does exactly what I’m asking for. Clearly that would be overkill. How do I make sure this is still moderately difficult to do?

  • What?

    Jump
  • Except for Daddy Cirdan, but he’s just so unapproachable.

  • Made from dead plants, rather.

  • Is this data able to be mirrored? I’m happy to host a backup.

ETA: Case in point - the list is currently inaccessible thanks to a Russian DDoS attack.

  • Gods I’d love the opportunity to risk getting fired a hundred times over to be able to call that shitheel a child rapist to his face - as close to his face as these workers were allowed to get, at any rate.

  • Definitely in favor of this idea, and not just because I wasn't looking forward to the large influx of tourists.

  • Were they expecting better behavior from China? It’s not like China was doing to treat foreigners any better than their own citizens.

  • Could be a Lemmy.Zip thing, then. Would be nice if the people who run instances would also consider how their personal hosting choices effect sharing across the wider internet. I get us tech nerds have our respective preferences for obscure formats for various reasons, but we really should be playing somewhat nicely with other environments if we want to attract users.

  • Tested uploading an image reply in browser and Voyager, and they both seem to upload in webp. Perhaps a lemmy.zip instance thing?

  • When I try to use the built-in share feature, it’s sharing it as a .avif file. Wonder if it’s specific to the app I’m using (Voyager). Something I’ve only noticed happening recently.

Either way, good content at least!

  • sigh Great, another format I have to wait for other apps to support if I want to share the memes. And webp was finally getting to the point where it wasn’t annoying the fuck out of me.

  • I fail to see the relevance of the question. My personal experience isn't applicable to everyone else.

  • Except we very much still use analogue clocks. They’re everywhere. Being able to read a clock when your cell phone isn’t handy is still a useful skill. And it’s not like it’s that hard to learn to read one. If you can’t figure out an analogue clock with a few minutes of instruction, well, you’ve got bigger issues.

  • Can’t say I’m surprised. I went to a charter high school for advanced math and science nerds, graduating in 2007. Even in a school full of “gifted” students I could tell the class after mine seemed a little derpy. I can only imagine the disappointment teachers at regular schools must feel day after day.

  • The app’s already made up of mostly fake accounts. There’s more bots on Grindr than actual people.

  • Never really thought about it before, but is there a reason for the distinction?
