AuDHD {baby-commie|Doesn't read}. A cat

  • That's only one step away from what the black book does. So hey, there is precedence for it.

  • Like we did appeasement in the 40s already, it was a bad strategy.

No no. It was a great strategy. Germany went to war. It was just that Germany also went to war with us, which wasn't what we wanted.

  • Modern monarchist is .. left?

  • The mood of the Soviet Union today is a mood of tremendous struggle and incredible conquest in which individual values and problems pale before the brightness of one great problem whose solution is told off by the ever-rising curve of production, the opening of steel mills, the successful mastery of tractor plants, machine building works, textile factories. It is a mood in which a newly literate servant girl will hail the rain running into her leaky shoes if that rain means harvest. Harvest somewhere far off on farms she never sees.

Anna Louise Strong, This Soviet World (Chapter VII) [Emphasis added]

This probably goes harder in context of the book. I'll work my hardest to get it done, because this thing is soo good.

  • Let me answer your quote with my own (I have nobody to send it to, but I want to tell people about this great book I am epub-ing).

All over the country for more than a month elections had been going on in far-away factories and villages. Soviet elections do not take place on a single day but are determined by local convenience within a period of several weeks prior to the convening of an All-Union Congress. Localities choose dates which will enable their outgoing governments to finish their business, and give the incoming governments time to prepare demands for the All-Union Congress. These candidates and demands had been subjects of much discussion. But the attitude to the elections expressed itself rather in action than in talk. Hundreds of thousands of peasants were joining collective farms "to break with the past and enter the elections as collective farmers." Factory workers were energetically completing new models of locomotives, turbines, inventions, to send as presents to the coming congress. There were, in fact, so many of these presents that the sending of most of them was ordered confined to reports.

  • That thing is nothing but pain!

  • What... It's already a new week? It was yesterday I saw the new weekly thread go up?

  • Very interesting. Thank you. I really ought to read.

  • It might be too long, but also note that some special unicode chars are not allowed, and these are used by some emojies (e.g. flags). That @ may not be the first char. And that it must be at least 3 chars long.

  • (add two spaces at the end of each line, or add ``` on their own lines before and after the smug man)

  • Yup! Done.

  • I think the most important settings are in regards simulation-distance, it is now lowered (edit: I thought that if sim-dist was set to 4, that meant 4 chunks would be "ticked", that isn't the case. So this probably won't be as much of a problem as I thought. The simulation distance is actually 9 chunks) and that an alternative redstone implementation is now used, this may or may not break some redstone.

The other two that might have an effect are: mobs will now despawn closer to players, and they are somewhat stupider (block changes won't make them update their path-finding). And some villager behaviors and sensors will now happen less frequently (this is the thing I think will have the least effect on anything)

  • No.

  • MEMO:

I am nerfing a bunch of settings to try and help with the server using too many resources and getting killed. If things are weird / farms not working, please tell me.

  • Your post made me remember multiverse exists thanks, well anyways. Sounds cool.

  • Weeeeeee. Bullshit. Thanks MC, why can't you just do what I tell you to in server.properties?

  • The server... "restarts" regularly.

  • Seems like you used an unpatched exploit that paper went ahead and patched at some point (maybe, I don't know what happened, could be something else). I've set allow-permanent-block-break-exploits to true, so whenever it... "restarts"* it should work.

    * (crashes, as much as I would hope it doesn't crash after everything I've tried. But hey, seems like it only crashes a few times a day instead of up to 10 times? Maybe IDK. Takes so long from when I do something to a crash happening that I forget about it.)
