  • Thank you! Everyone here is too kind ☺️. It was a great trip and I can’t wait to do more, but hopefully by the time I’ve built the PTO to do so again I’ll have a proper touring bike LOL. My Triumph is the absolute perfect bike for riding to work, downtown, and being a hooligan carving mountain roads, which is 99% of my riding. But she is definitely not a comfortable touring bike.

  • Great pic! I’ve seen some of your previous posts and it’s great that you’re loving the hobby. One of us, one of us!

  • Hopefully, I look like a much younger version… and I’ll finish Winds of Winter soon TM 🤣

  • I probably averaged about 8 hours per day, but a few were longer. Particularly leaving Colorado Springs around noon and heading to Taos NM. Got there around 9pm, but there were no hotel rooms due to the 4th of July. Went farther down the road, which was a mountain road, with a huge drop on my side and no guard rails, at night, and it was wet with several deer sightings; to Mora NM, still no rooms available. Ended up in Las Vegas NM (not the real one in Nevada) around 12:30am and finally got a room.

  • Thanks, I’ve done a lot of work on her to make her mine. Nice to know others appreciate my design decisions.

  • I wish for your dream to come true too! It really gave me the time away, on my own, doing what I love to reflect on things. Now I’m working out everyday and feeling 1000% better than when I left.

  • So you’ve been to The Rut 🤣

  • You’re awesome for saying that! Also, you should try it. It’s an addiction that will drain your bank account, but fill your soul. 🤣

  • Great idea, but my next bike is going to be a tourer as I promised my butt and back during the journey. 🤣

  • Thanks, my ego needed that!

  • Glad to be of service!

  • Thanks, I got them from Long Ride (all one word .com). They are really well built, but be sure to get the waterproof liner bags (have to buy separately) as waxed canvas isn’t entirely waterproof.

  • What happened to us (Americans)? We used to look down on Soviet propaganda and book burning; congratulating ourselves on our free speech. Now we’re burning books and outlawing news sources that don’t abide by the official propaganda. It’s sickening.

  • Hardspace: Shipbreaker. If I’m wanting to play a game but don’t have anything specific it usually means I just want a mental break from life. Shipbreaker is perfect for that. It’s fun and engaging but you play at your own pace and no one is shooting at you. Plus you’re floating around in space with 6 degrees of movement (not considering 360 degrees of rotation) tearing apart spaceships!

  • Came here to say this, but you beat me to it.

  • Seconded!

  • Get a motorcycle. Ok, so if you don’t know how to ride, get a cheap second hand bike under 600cc and take the MSF Basic Rider course. Guaranteed to spice up your life, give you a desire to get out of the house, and you’ll meet many cool people.

  • The same way that AT THE TIME everyone rooted for the cowboys, not the Indians (Native Americans, but taking a little poetic license); everyone rooted for the glorious British Empire, not any the the “backwards 3rd world countries” they invaded; etc. The key is that public opinion is swayed by those that own the media, and that means rich old white men.

  • I played Atari 2600 back when it was the console to have. I didn’t see a pixel that wasn’t square until I was a man. You think you know old gaming. I was born into it, molded by it, and it made me what I am today; an old man with back pain.
