  • I and another dude modded a 30k+ sub. There were 5 mods, but the other 3 are basically gone at that point, and I was brought on because I was active in the community. We both left, and within a week users are complaining about the slacking mods and wondering why spam is getting through, why discussion threads aren't posted, etc.

We didn't do anything with the shutdown, as it wasn't "our" community to shut down. We were just brought on for workload reasons. But we're both gone now, and the cracks were showing immediately.

Sadly, I'm fairly certain it's literally just me in the equivalent fed community. Haven't seen any other subs, at least.

  • Yup. I will "respond" to so many things, but I tend to not post the response. Just typing out my thoughts is usually enough, and when thinking more critically of what the motivation of my response is, it usually tends to boil down to "I want this other person to think I'm correct". But that's exactly why they responded first, and then it turns into an argument. No one is trying to learn, we're trying to win.

  • Mine are still there, but edited it to a general narrative of what happened and why I edited/left the platform. I didn't get all my comments, cause it was numbering in the 5000s I think, and no don't care to be that through. But it got many of them, and the API changes I ruin make it hard to do now.

  • PR?

  • Makes sense, still working out the lingo of fork v instance!

  • Not currently, I think, but multiple are in beta and sending out invites. I use kbin as a rich web app and it works well about 85% of the time. Biggest issues are random log-outs, using the back button sometimes loses place in the never-ending scroll list, and there isn't a good way to see your subscribed magazines (you have to go to your profile and scroll to the subscriptions section to select it).

But I'm really liking Kbin so far. I'd rather not be on the instance that is hosting everything; just seems easier for it to get too big and fail quickly, and I'd like to stay in one location if possible. Kbin seems big enough to last but small enough that it isn't growing insanely quick. Another option is Fedia.io, which is a kbin fork. Very similar imo, just a little different.

  • It's crazy that they constantly say "this isn't political, this isn't about politics" and then, when given the opportunity, do everything they can to identify as conservative, God-fearing, and family values.

The restaurant has a gay pride flag out front. It's inherently political, because half the country wants to rescind rights given to the LGBT community. But when questioned on their materials, the Washers say it isn't political. It's just their values.

And that's the problem. One side knows that this is political. They know what is at stake, and how close it is to going away. The other side plugs it's ears and sings songs until they get the chance, and then they take away people's rights. But it's not political....

....because it's religious. It's a natural law dictated by a book only they care about.

  • What if it is a Gatorade infused sour?

    Hear me out. https://www.peddlerwv.com/whats-on-tap/

I've had all but the orange, and they are all very good by my tongue, but I'm not exactly a beer snob. Trend towards sours and lagers, not a big hops flavor fan.

  • Same I think? Idk when metric users round up, but I'm ~1.85m. I just don't fit comfortably lol.

  • Ideally, I'd be able to hook up whatever to it and use it as like...supplemental power, but honestly, I'm about as little work as possible. I'm working on my exercise bike rn, I run, I have a water rower and am planning on buying a nicer one soon cause my Amazon Special one is lacking now after using a nice one. But the recumbent bike in front of a TV is just unbeatable. I can play Xbox and just mindlessly pedal on it, and unlike the exercise bike, I don't feel it in my taint (sorry for the imagery) for 2 days afterwards. Lol

I also try the water stuff, just doesn't help. I have a camelback on my chair I fill with water I drink out of lmao

  • Some people also eat from boredom or habit; sit in front to the TV, get a snack. Turn on the Xbox, get a snack.

It's me, I'm people. And I'm not even out of shape, just bad habits.

I'm real close to trading in my gaming chair for a recumbent bike. I've done it before, but sold it in a move. I don't even sweat; I just keep moving. Works well.

  • If I were to pick one, I'd call it the Menocene. Seems apt.

I did Google it though, if you want the actual answer.

  • See?!?¡ This is proof that global warming doesn't exist!

    Suck it, Libs.

  • I once had to have a Skype call with a Google Docs extension dev because I broke their extension somehow. Lmao

They couldn't even tell me how they fixed it, they just fucked with it til it worked. I was using a spread sheet to keep track of Dr's appointments for a group home, but wanted to automatically export it to an individual's Google Calendar. I can't remember what was broken, but they ended up having to put in some crazy formula to get it to work correctly, when it should have been a pretty easy function.

  • This is truly one of the most glaring examples of women being unequal to men.

    Everyone should have useable pockets.

  • Lol this is wild. I am right handed, hold with right hand, use right front pocket, and use right thumb to Swype text. This is like a way more interesting "do you sit to wipe or stand" question.

  • Do I have big hands? I hold it with my dominant hand and Swype type with my thumb

  • Using technology to increase productivity counts as a tech company. Having an app counts as a tech company. Shits ridiculous now...lol
