  • Why on earth is the senders name redacted? If the person is in jail it doesn't have to be. Who are they protecting by blanking out the name, and why?

  • Agreed, this has been an issue for far too long. It's better in the EU than in most other regions, but it's still too damn high.

  • Are they though? Reform has already split into reform and restore, so they aren't as united as you think.

About labour, are they really that bad or do people have unrealistic expectations? I don't know tbh.

  • Most likely "They did Brexit wrong!". The Brexit that Farage would have delivered, given the chance, would have unicorns crapping out rainbows all over Britain making everything magically better.

  • Well, there's always someone who'll have access to your data, that's just how life works, so do you want a say on how that's used, how much is shared and with whom? Or do you want to hand it over to the US. To me that's an easy choice.

  • Maybe? Vetoing spends political capital.

But I agree that getting an EU army is not an easy task.

  • Did I? I might have tbf, can't remember.

I'm not out to antagonize people, but also if the best article on a subject is Politico then I'm not going to avoid posting it. The second link was some sort of dodgy blog that could have been run by literal Nazis for all I know. I hope not, but I don't know.

I still call on the anti-Politico brigade to post interesting articles from other sources. I check the feed before I post and if the subject is already there I don't post the same news again.

  • Kind of depends on how you set up the command structure, doesn't it? I'm sure clever people in the EU could figure out a way to avoid being held hostage by a bad actor.

  • Because to me Politico is good enough. I did however add a second link for people with an aversion to politico, as a courtesy.

I get that you don't like politico, but that's not my problem. I post links that I find interesting. You don't have to read them. You can even block me to avoid seeing any of my links. That's fine, I don't mind.

I strongly disagree with the idea of "Only sources that I find acceptable should be allowed". You don't have to agree, and nobody is stopping you from posting your own content. I won't even complain about your sources, I promise.

  • I get it tbh. There are both benefits and risks with having your own currency. Having your own currency being devalued makes your population poorer, but can also reduce the unemployment because you can export more.

So it's both good and bad. I think it all comes down to if you want to be part of a bigger Europe or not.

I'm a big proponent of the Euro, so I'm a bit annoyed that my country refuses to adopt it. The problem is that whenever our currency is weak people want to join the Euro, but then we'd get a "raw deal", but then our currency gets strong again and then people don't see the benefit of joining. It's frustrating.

  • I fear you're right.

Someone said "To every problem there's a solution that's clear, simple and wrong". I think that Farage is that.

  • We were neutral, that ended when we joined Nato.

  • Probably bad.

The reason why I doubt that Ukraine would attack Moscow on Victory Day is that the risk of killing innocents would be high, which could (would) make Russians rally around the flag.

I do like the threat though. Putin and Russia shouldn't be confident that Ukraine won't attack, which causes a dilemma for them.
