  • There's no steam valve in the US anymore - except perhaps delusions like crypto or meme stocks or whatever new scheme that can give people hope that they personally can grab enough cash to escape.

The only thing holding this together the complete inability for the people in the US to step out of line without it ruining them. Its pure atomization here. Everyone knows its bad, but what are they going to do not go to work? Then it will be worse for them individually. Which sounds like an indictment of them, but they are absolutely correct. There is no help for anyone here. They aren't going to find support anywhere.

The population has been made politically illiterate through state propganda/education system. Even in colleges here. I majored in history and Marx was never talked about.

Obviously contridictions are sharpening, which is positive, but there is a lot to overcome in the US. Its not just "hey you need to organize." Of course that is true, but even in these conditions - there are limits to what can be accomplished here. The revolutionary left was wiped out in this country by the end of 70's. Couple that with extreme atomization of the US and you can understand the challenges the left has.

The ruling class whether they understood it or not, made a choice in 2016 and 2020. Bernie presented an option of recognition that the empire was over and we could wind down and decline in stability by offering concessions to the prolitariat with imperial spoils. Instead they presented to public with two different delusional visions of imperial future. The ruling class chose barbarism and there is no escape from that decision, only confrontation and escaltation.

Not trying to sound doomer about this. As this goes on it will lead to conditions where more positive outcomes are possible for more of humanity. I do think the US will get to positive outcomes later than the rest of the world. But a better world is not only possible - people are living it in AES, and they are building it every day in those nations. Communism will win.

Went really long with this, but its just a lot of stuff that's been on my mind

  • Yes, the the US military will follow these orders. They will not sieze control of the government over illegal and obviously outlandish orders. They're going to do exactly as told. They may shuffle their feet on the streets of Minneapolis and reporters will do stories like "we talked to soldiers - they say they don't want to be here doing this." Libs will eat it up and scream "we support da trooooops"

  • But at what cost?

  • the highlander sequels didn't happen

That is the world i want to live in

  • Agreed there. Big fan of the show

  • They did this in Highlander 2. Any article that mentions this asinine plan, should have to in lude that this literally happened in Highlander 2

  • "Standing up to Trump didn't work - because I caved" - this asshole

  • That's art

  • Its interesting that they chose to to show a woman as if that's who's doing anything wrong here. It should be a gross old land leach hording housing and exploiting people any way they can

  • Have you been living under a rock or something, tankie?

I try to lol. I honestly can't imagine what libs actually think is the reason for the war.

  • It was a coup. That's just an objective thing that happened regardless of this article or the quatation from Putin

  • Why did they put coup on quotation marks. The coup isn't in question

  • Everything they accuse Stalin of, Churchill actually did. And libs love him so much. Why? Is it just because of that stupid speach about fighting on the beaches?

  • well said.

  • This isn't directed at you, by the way, I just used your comment more as a springboard to attack leftist inaction.

Totally understood, and happy to provide a springboard!

simply hoping and praying China will save us all and letting everyone else carry the torch of humanity forward

This is an interesting point. I agree that that we in a the US arent off the hook so to speak, and should organize, etc, exactly as you said. But to springboard off you for mement, i think its important for USian leftists to understand that the US is not the main character of the world. I don't think that their will be a revolution in the US that leads the world to communism. I think the rest of the world will be leading us.

That doesn't mean we should be passive, there's still an important role to be played in the US and imperialist West - and as conditions worsen revolutionary potential increases. Its impossible to predict when something will be able to happen here so being organized is important. I just mean that socialism is an international project, and sometimes, particularly the "Western leftists," talk like the West will bring about the "true" socialism and lead the revolution.

I've been thinking about this for a while, but haven't put it in words yet so I hope that makes sense lol. And of course this isn't an arguement for passivity, and I'm not diresring this at you or youre above comment.

  • I agree with you. But i aslo feel like when people complain about the state of organizing in the US, it doesn't get acknowledged how thouroughly the left in the US was routed. Every org was infiltrated and compromised. Its leaders and members were assassinated and imprisoned. I'm not argueing against organizing of course, and there are good orgs today like the two you mentioned. I just think it should be acknowledged why we're in the state we're in in the US. It's not because people read some books, and then decided to just allow capitalism to continue. An entire generation of socialists were basically eradicated here

  • It sounds like you're just justifying not reading theory and projecting onto people that have. I wish the US only continued to exist because the people who've read theory were allowing it to. That would be a really easy fix

  • They're the one true leftist

  • Please Xi, my people yearn to be forced to live like that

  • What are you talking about? How are communists supporting the "capitalistic" system?
