  • The system Anki uses is Spaced Repetition which is a proven efficient learning method, for example my language learning app uses it too. It's just an algorithm in a way. I encourage you to check it out even if your method works it could be a nice tool to know still

  • Gonna radically oversimplify but everything in your gut is actually its own little ecosystem, influenced by your environment and genetics but mostly of course what you eat. And that microbiome actually has ways to talk to the brain and vice versa through the Gut-Brain axis, affecting your decisions and emotions. So if for example you eat only junk food, it will be bad for that biodiversity and your gut microbiome will be shit and it will make you feel like shit. But if you take probiotics, eat healthy and varied and whatnot, you'll have stronger more diverse microbiote, which in turns lead to healthier outcomes.

This is all still being studied of course and it's unclear if really either your brain or gut is in charge or both, and who affects whom and when, but they talk. But I feel like following the old adage of caring about what you put in your body is good enough. It just means the things we eat and ingest leave living traces in our body that can affect us after we're done with it. So yeah if you only eat shit you'll kinda feel more like shit.

  • this is exactly how your gut microbiome tells you what to eat in a way

  • I created an account there too but the issue is from the get go the website gives me bad vibes like it's only a matter of time before they pull the rug too. I'd rather wait for a federated alternative and wing it with multiple watchlists of 100 for now :/ it's all automated with arr stuff anyway so it's not too bad

  • I guess between them and Plex they're on a competition to see who can drive users to Jellyfin the fastest

  • I just love these posts so much man, they're so random but so authentic. AND YES GOD DAMMIT IT IS JESSE FADEN I will not be lied to god dammit I recognize my favorite Remedy girl. And yes Crow Country is dope, if you like retro survival horror I cannot not recommend Signalis!

  • Yeah right I'm sure the deer is supper happy to know it was shot ethically at least. That's not a cool guide that's depressing as shit leave animals alone

  • I'm continuing on Let This Radicalize You which is full of great hands-on practical "right now" tales and advice on creating the change you want to see in the world. It's so recent yet still reads like a million years away before the second Trump term and such. But it's solid although very detailed in its recounts of mutual aid stories, sometimes a bit needlessly I thought, but I'm already radicalized in a way so I guess some people might still need these horror stories of state abuse in such realistic grim detail.

  • Fermented vegan cheeses have all the same tastes cause it's the same process I'd recommend to try modern ones they're really great nowadays. Depends of the country of course.

  • Maybe i should recommend DDD instead of RRR 🤫 lotta assholes running around still doubling down on dooming everybody

  • Yeah same and I hate when people just say well might as "well not recycle at all then" :/ that kind of defeatism doesn't help either

  • All I know is the moment they start to request the cleaning be done in a particular outfit or if they drop something on the floor in front of you for you to clean, that's when it's time to run or pay the rent yourself 😬

  • Looks amazing but I expect it to be botched because it's Bethesda anyway to be honest 😅

  • Maybe we should tell them it'll be like a European Union of EU communities! :p

  • Wasn't lichen the first fungi to be able to thrive on earth? would t surprise me it can thrive anywhere that shit is resilient as fuck.

I still think fungi just came from outer space anyway. Their immediate adaptation and diversity explosion and the way they've woven into every layer of nature in symbiose like they came with advanced adaptation tools in hand and now they're eating our radiation and plastic. That kingdom is too smart and advanced to me to just have popped one day at the right time.

I'm sure science doesn't support it but I like to think that just arrived on earth one day and went at it. So would make sense to point lichen at the next planet if we want to try too but not sure you can stop it ever after :p

  • Yeah the time control is a huge often unspoken part. Yes you can resume a joint later but it's not the same. Here you're fully in control you can do 10mn there 1h there and have no difference of taste or effect

  • I went from joints to a DynaVap which was a marvel of engineering but I didn't like still needing a lighter and I burnt myself on it a few times. Switched to an Arizer Solo which was amazing and really blew my mind, it was the first time I could see how much better vaping was with 0 downsides.

And now I'm on a Volcano Hybrid and oh lord, never take this thing away from me ever. I only ever use the balloons and never had to complain about a difference in high, I like the tube but I feel the balloon is such a calmer experience. You don't have to worry about "losing" anything, or your herb isn't cooking while you take in the vape, you can just enjoy it at your own rythm with your herb resting.

  • This is so fucking funny when you know our own scientists don't even want to stay with how shit they're paid. "Here in France research is a priority" my guy the only intense research his governments are doing is how to give less money to people and more to himself. this guy is a pure neoliberal shitstain he doesn't care one second about the sciences besides to shine on the global stage for half a second but these poor scientists answering his call will quickly change tune when they arrive I feel.
