  • i have no idea how many times i had to tell my parents and grandparents that we have decided to not have children, but over the course of ~6-8ish years, it was consistently asked more than once every time we saw each other.

was not a big fan of having other people's wants being thrust into my life as if they are more important than my own.

thankfully, still kid free at 41.

  • as a software engineer who didnt go to college, i am not talking about programming; i have peers at work who have a masters degree in CS who know nothing about computers.

i'm talking about troubleshooting problems and fixing them by telling your boomer aunt what to do over a video call when her keyboard makes her computer too slow for her cat to read her favorite comic when she presses the "G" key.

  • not the person you replied to, but i have been using cloudflare zero trust for my streaming needs; have not gotten a complaint yet.

just make sure you have the upload bandwidth.

  • i did the world a favor and decided to not have kids. sadly, this also means i am unable to hand down a generation's worth of computer knowledge, heh.

  • i am happy you got one of those beefy arms on there for good measure.

  • i figured gen z would start fixing my computer once i hit my current age (41); turns out i dont know any gen z's that understand how computers work.

im really tired of being everyone's tech support :(

  • did he do it in the back of his dragula?

  • y'all motherfuckers need Bash

  • got it. so we are still being violated. D :

  • i am not trying to be contrarian, i just want additional info here - do you have any resources that describe the levels of literacy and what they mean for these studies? (its hard for my brain to come to a conclusion without that info <3)

i want to compare these to different state literacy levels on this spectrum as well.

  • my cousin is a teacher that left ca because it is expensive here comparitive to teacher salaries. granted she now lives in iowa, not oklahoma, but its still just because of the money vs cost of living.

  • a fine of $92M and it isnt a class action suit. i dont even get my $1.08 in the mail for being violated.

  • 4 monitors & 2 compiters at my last job; 1 computer and 3 monitors at this job... 🎵movin' on up...🎵

  • i selfhost gitlab for my own use. its similar to github, but is a bit of a resource hog and the project tracking is a bit wonky to use. i have heard gitea is really low resource usage, but has fewer features.

  • good point; i was thinking school bus. he could also have a stable job ensuring everyone has transportation in his community. still kinda hot

  • the movie was pretty bad...

i described it to my friend like this, and had to double verify that i was not joking; this actually happened in the movie:

the movie didnt know what it wanted to be. it flipped back and forth between a mediocre comedy and an ultra-serious drama so quickly that when someone gets shot, goes into surgery and the tone changes to somber the audience is left to believe an important character just died............ "GuESs wHAt TiME iT iS?!" and happy breakout into song and dance.

i just couldnt after that and left.

  • so he has a stable job that helps children (and by proxy their families) with daily life. that sounds pretty hot to me?
