  • Single channel WiFi probably is unlikely to get to sub millisecond response timesas it is shared air time for both send and receive of all devices, wifi 7 multi link might help if it can route some traffic on different channels but over all I never expect it to get close to what wired Ethernet can do.

  • Exactly, wifi 7 will probably get us to or close to practical 1Gbit wireless speed vs theoretical 1Gbit speeds.

  • They are hardly anywhere now.. Best Buy is phasing out their remaining physical movie sections this year.

  • Canada, one of our primary ISPs offers fibre to the home with speeds of 1Gbit and even higher. So many threads on their forums with users confused why they can't get anywhere close to 1Gbit and it always turns out to be WiFi.

  • It does contain random political statements however which is sometimes concerning.

  • Still no news on QuantumScape's factory actually going into large scale production.. so still... lab results..

  • Don't forget a more user friendly digital download SHARING system as well.. We tried "SHARING" a digital download switch game a few times.. Steam is far more forgiving. Switch wins on swapping carts however, if you stick to physical purchases for sharing.

  • These existed shortly after the iPhone came out under the presumption people would miss the physical keys from blackberries. They didn’t sell well back then I don’t think they will now.

  • Costco wrapping paper rolls have years worth of paper on one role and they are reversible with two different print’s. Nearly everywhere else I have purchased wrapping paper it is 90% tube not paper.

  • Odd I have done the full setup several times As I run pure dockers / separate HA, Mosquito MQTT and Zigbee2mqtt and the devices all just auto discover and appear in HA has devices with entities with full control.

  • Yes but WiFi 7 FINALLY lets devices connect to multiple BANDS at the same time with a new feature called Multi-link operation (MLO).. IE the device can hold on to a longer range but slower band and more seamlessly transmit data over the best one at the time.

  • I follow two beehaw communities and they are both duplicates on other servers but with slightly different content.. I wouldn't even notice.

  • I don’t think there is a short clear way to avoid potential centuries of suffering. Living in pain could be worse than a violent death.

Imagine a life time as a comatose patient who is still conscious and can hear but not respond?

Years of nearly starving to death. Years of physical abuse? Slowly dying in a hospital from cancer / some other slow painful death.

Hiker trapped alone on a mountain.

    In short no thanks.

  • Ecobee is fully local via homekit.. Your internet can be off and the homekit commands will be sent local. You can also control everything from its screen locally if your internet is down.

Initial setup (first time powering it up) and use of the Ecobee app require internet.

  • End to end user experience.. They control the HW and the Software better than anyone else.

  • Guess they didn't learn when this happened to them with the noise cancelling in the Air Pod Pros, which resulted in them nerfing them, then fixing it in a new model.. Leaving a bunch of people with less effective noise cancelling after a firmware update.
