  • Actually... You may be right. The hole where the coolong plate connects to the thermostat may not be air tight anymore since he put in the new thermostat. Maybe he bunged up the seal somehow.

Thanks for the idea. I'll check that myself soon.

About temps: no idea. The thing is, I never measured the temperature inside it BEFORE it was fixed, so even if I measure it now I have no point of comparison :-/

Though... I just turned the temp from "min" to right in the middle and now it seems the ice is melting??? I'll give it a few more days and see what happens.

I guess it may be that this thermostat is backwards????

To be clear: i have to pass by "min" to go to off, so in my head it makes sense that "min" means "lowest cooling" / "highest temperature". From max I can't go to "off". These are all one dial with no separate on/off.

  • sees pc

    looks carefully

    actually it's a cozonac warmer

  • a rack of duct tapes of various colours (like 20 options from black to pink and even patterns, like tartan.)

Damn yea, nothing like that here lol. You guys have it real nice in your countries in this sense of product availability.

Though we do have all types of tape: electrical, masking tape, that strong gray stuff, transparent scotch tape. But I've never seen things like color variants.

  • Man I looked for that for so long but couldn't find it online in Romania anywhere.

It's even hard to find black tape around here. I went to a giant hardware store that's lile 5 times the size of our local Lidl and they had none of that either.

A lot of these niche products are just nowhere to be found in my area.

  • It's normal, dude

If you're not hurting anyone who the heck cares? Just try not to make them uncomfortable I guess, but I'm sure at least some of them even enjoy the attention.

Don't beat yourself up on something that's wired so deep in your brain it would fuck you up if you pulled that cable out.

  • Plain old internal HDD kept separately from my PC, and a usb dock for running the backup. FreeFileSync makes the process a dream.

Also, idk about anyone else, but I like the physical process of hooking things up. It feels good as opposed to just pressing buttons.

  • The most important thing is that you’re not increasing the cancer risk of people who happen to be in your vicinity by using snus.

Yup, certainly the most important for me, because I will never willingly put any of this crap into my mouth and lungs.

  • Sounds like the kind of game that would be painful to play while working 9-5. I can't imagine spending an evening of free time doing that just to die to a game-breaking bug.

  • Thanks, I'll check, but I doubt they're damaged. They looked mint last time I checked. I actually have to pull pretty hard to open the fridge.

  • Yea it's because if the case is open, the air isn't forced through the radiators.

In my case it was going from the front right up and back out of the case, so a bit of air was missing basically every component.

Now that it's covered it can only go front to back and has to pass through the components.

  • yes

Maybe? but how could it be wrong? Still works fine and it does still stop sometimes but it just creates ice.

This fridge isn't one of those Ice-free ones, it never heats the plate to de-ice. But it didn't use to create ice before.

  • It's a piece of another older PC case. Dunno what metal it is exactly. Probably some aluminum alloy because it feels lighter than steel.

Yea there were open fan holes. These are the only pictures I could find from before:

  • I had this issue before... It may be a lemmy.zip thing :-/

  • It may not be that finger. My ID was in clear view, with no flash glare, straight, on a white background, and I still got told to message support.

And yea, same, I tried once and there was no option to try again.

  • What a bunch of sleazebags going after this instead of important crime

  • Yea I tried Curve too but couldn't get past KYC... I was told to message support, did so, and got no response in like a month.

I asked for my data to be deleted, and waited another month for a response. Now it's deleted supposedly.

Idk seems pretty unproffesional to me... They probably only support the largest EU countries ID's..
